Based on their videos, Bonsai Zone, and Heron's Bonsai, yes if you're in Florida, you can do it anytime cause it's closer to the southern hemisphere.

Tell me, please, how do you clean the bonsai trunk from the black earthen plaque?

I use immunox fungicide and mix it one part with 10 parts water, dip toothbrush and gently brush trunk, then rinse withh huh water.

ive had no issue hard pruning roots with azaleas and p arfa. p afra root as any size cutting. so prune all the root you want with no worry

I did some big root cuts on my p afra, let it dry for about 2 weeks before planting, kept it pretty dry for a month or so bit it still rotted and split base of trunk. Maybe i did it a wrong time of year, early autumn, but im in queensland, oz. Pretty warm here.

Hi Jason, thank you for your videos! I've heard that a Mugo pine can be repotted in late summer, August and is better for that species than spring. Your thoughts?

Hi. Repotting Pines ... Do you first place the tree in full shade and then gradually expose it to sunlight?

Since pines are repotted in spring I place them right into full sun but keep them out of wind and above 40F

So do your due diligence when selecting bonsai soil. I have lost a few good trees due to just buying their “all purpose” bonsai soil assuming it’s on size fits all. It is absolutely not. Just a warning to all us amateurs lol.
