Great outcome. I was kind of disagreed for a while when you took off the major chunk on top and quickly then saw the S shape coming out strong and more visible to make it even better...Can't wait to see it potted up...Thanks for the video.

Great video and helpful with the angle change. Is the wrap you use just normal cling wrap?
@Bonsaify3 жыл бұрын
It is pallet wrap - which is normal cling wrap basically. We buy it from Uhaul, primarily for wrapping containers in advance of shipping them to customers, but it's handy stuff to have around for sure!

Great video Eric. Thanks. Who made your little rotating table. Where did you purchase it?
@Bonsaify3 жыл бұрын
I bought mine via bonsaitonight.com. However it appears Jonas doesn't have them at the moment. They are on Amazon I believe: www.amazon.com/Pollice-Verde-Professional-Turntable-Green-T/dp/B07TKCG4V3/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Pollice+Verde&qid=1632790083&sr=8-3

Yes! And doing well. Will likely be for sale at our table at the Pacific Bonsai Expo.

What a beautiful accident with the trunk!! Where did you get your growing pot, & are you just using regular potting soil? I'm new to bonsai, so I wish to learn as much as I can from anyone I can! ;-)
@Bonsaify3 жыл бұрын
The growing container is a Finofil 6" circular pond basket. We use them for trees because they have good durability and provide air pruning for the roots. Junipers don't necessarily benefit from colanders, but I was giving it a try. The soil is a mix of standard 1:1:1 Akadama:Lava:Pumice, and my seed starting mix of 80%perlite/20% coco coir. These were potted up mid-season last year without root work, so that's why there are two different soils in there.

So how do you get the roots to cooperate, since right now they’re growing “to the left” of the tree instead of down?
@Bonsaify Жыл бұрын
Oddly enough, the repot was not too hard. This is a small tree, so roots are still flexible. That said, I had to be pretty aggressive and so the tree grew quite slow afterward for a few months. But happy to report I sold it to a friend and it is doing quite well!
@Krakenite Жыл бұрын
@@Bonsaify ahhh, so you just bent/moved the roots around 90 degrees so it would fit that way? That makes sense. Thanks for the reply!

Hi - we never did another video on this. But I might. I sold it to a client, but I'm babysitting it right now. Were you interested in any particular aspect of what was shown in this video?
