I'm from suburbia in the northeast. But the ingenious repair of everyday items, and the humor, make me feel right at home. I'm a tinkerer and love some of the craft I see. The themes of freedom and self sufficiency are far closer to the Murkan spirit than the bourgeois plasticity of affluent suburbs. Fixing one's own vehicle is an ancient human tradition, and the attempts to make cars unfixable or not worth fixing by manufacturers have led to a fleet of slavemobiles on our roads. They are the eyesores to me.

I like the music you choose, the guitar picking is really good. The tune that starts at 10:35 is awesome, I never before heard such a beautiful blend of slide, banjo and guitar, keep it up.

The vise grips on the car controls cracked me up. Many years ago, when I was in the US Navy, I was transferred to Alameida NAS and on the way stopped at my Uncle and Aunt's house in Iowa. The shower control had a vise grip on it. Asked my Uncle about it and he said it was on his to do list. This was in 1983. In 1991 I was again transferred to Alemeida NAS and stopped at my Uncle's. Still had the same vise grip on the shower control. I looked at him and he said "Don't panic, it is still on my to do list." That was a pretty standard response from him. "Don't panic." Sadly, he passed late last year. RIP, Unc.
