I agree with the sentiment that Elphaba's awkward dance scene was VERY drawn out. This is indeed in the stage musical - it feels awkward there too but it doesn't feel like it drags on like it does in the film. There is a podcast clip from my favorite Glinda/Elphaba duo where they were on tour and Elphaba comes out for her entrance after rushing to the bathroom and she had TOILET PAPER on her shoe. So all the students picking on her was like. The ensemble genuinely laughing and it is just such a silly story that made that moment feel so much more real and humiliating 😆

Thank God I wasn't the only one that felt that way and thank you for confirming that is what happens in the stage production. I definitely don't mind it feeling a little awkward - it's supposed to I think, but it just went on foreverrrrrrr lol. That is a such a great anecdote - I would love to watch that clip. Link?

I would like to see John make an original oz movie after this that ties all the cinematic universes together because wicked Judy garland and return to oz is a trilogy and one single timeline and universe that is the main timeline then you have mulholland drive that David lynch did that is one movie one oz cinematic universe you have oz the great and powerful that is one timeline one movie and the wiz that is the whole oz cinematic universe it’s not very big at all it would be nice to John make a movie connecting all of them together

Oh wow. That's a FANTASTIC idea. If it was even half as good as this movie was I would definitely be interested in watching it. Maybe we should start a petition!
