I know for certain that I ended up fighting him a few more times (tried buying chocobo stables too soon, d'oh) but I have no idea if that particular instance of Beta took. Both Enemy Skill materia have it, but that's all the footage I have, tried to review the tapes but it's inconclusive. If I had to guess though, you're probably right.

Hah, the ending was great. I do believe KyonKun10 is right though, you have to end the battle victoriously for an Enemy Skill to be learned, and since being ejected from battle counts as fleeing, you probably don't have Beta on Cloud unless you off-screened another battle. In any case, thanks for this bonus video, I enjoyed it.
