Part two of the Texas Haul special, where we take a look at the many, many drives I brought back from my trip to Texas for VCF SouthWest. This is boxes #3 and #4 of the palette. Way, way more to come, so stay tuned!

I know voice coil stuff isn’t what you prefer but the seektest of that MiniScribe 3085 really sounds so good! That ST-151 looks really strange without black paint. I hope we will get to hear at least one that works in the next episodes. That CMI that probably works sounds really nice and looks in good cosmetic condition too! Can’t wait for the next ones!

@@arnlol thanks! I've set them up to release every Wednesday until I run out, and there's 3 more filmed and ready right now. I agree, the 3085 is pretty sweet, and I've always liked the CM6000 seek test. You probably will not hear an ST-151 that works in any of these videos, but I do have one that I know works after being manually started that I will demo someday.

The dead short Microscience 1050's shouldn't be too bad to fix (there is usually a group of 3 tantalums that will be bad, and they are fairly easy to find with an ohm meter). I think you found MiniScribe's long-lost bricks (the 8000 series bricks that is).

@@bobjoe2827 Haha, still wish I could find actual masonry with their name, though. Maybe I will fix the Microscience someday but not any time soon.
