This is a great trailer. Whatever it's flaws are, it is such a pure cinematic vision of cinema using cinema, referring to cinema. It also captures perfectly the transition from 1979 to 1980 which I lived through and was a descent into our current nightmare. Ronald Reagan's nightmare that keeps on giving. Maybe that is why the cinematic angle is so perfect--because it is all artifice. The 70s were as awkward as PSH's Scotty J. but it was real. The 80s and everything that has followed it was pure fakery.

Boogie Nights is one of the greatest films of all time from the 1990s, Paul Thomas Anderson showed the dynamic of a family between Dirk and Jack (Father & Son). I think this film is one of greatest in the age of contemporary cinema.

Is removing roller girl the point? What's the statement then? Or is this really just updating old trailers and cleaning up the video? If so why and for who? I guess for me the confusion is that this seems to have no point to it but a big company doing this for no reason makes no sense as there is no profit therefore it must have a point to it but...

There are fans like myself that are interested in seeing newer trailers for older movies as at the least it could be interesting or at best even better than the original trailer. There's nothing wrong with that. Also, it could help generate interest to a newer audience that wouldn't be drawn into seeing that older movie with the old trailer. If it doesn't appeal to you then keep it moving. Why do you care if this is being done and that other people like it? It's not ruining your life in anyway.
