A completely new assembly for a BBSHD is $725 at this time. It's worth considering based on what needs to be done to repair the old motor.. Don't use broken gaskets. Grease is not meant to be used with a gasket. Use high temperature auto silicone vs the gasket.

Yes, I used grease to supplement it since the damage was not that big and there was no room for water to penetrate.

Molybdenum grease? Looks a lot like Mobil-28 aircraft grease. (My 3 ounce grease gun is filled with this. I use it on the bike exclusively.)

At 6:50 you state that the new style roter can be used with older motors, this is incorrect. the old rotor has a 24mm bearing and seat in the housing. The new rotor has a 26mm bearing and will not fit in a 24mm seat in the old housing.

Also the bearings have different ID 8mm and 9mm so you can't swap the bearing over either. you have to find a 24mmOd 9mm ID bearing to use the new rotor in an old housing.

In fact, it is not recommended to reuse damaged gaskets. Silicone is difficult to remove if used incorrectly. Because the cover is aluminum, scratches are likely to form when removing the silicone with a knife.

If the pinion large gear is broken, the motor will be locked while driving.

If you drive more than 10,000 km, the pinion grease may be contaminated and hardened due to dust inflow. The grease inside the case does not need to be replaced unless there is a problem. Grease condition was good until 30,000.

Or, if it's a large bearing, you can pry it out from the other side with a flat driver. The clutch bearing in the nylon gear cannot be replaced and the entire nylon gear must be replaced.

Eyy thanks for the info man! Yeah, i also have a defective nylon gear and I already bought another one. My BBSHD is 5 years old already and some parts are definitely failing like the bearings for instance. Luckily, I know a bearing supplier who have them. 😊

It's most likely a pedal assist sensor issue. (PAS PCB BOARD )s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmSYz1V If it is a physical problem related to the axle, we recommend replacing the needle bearing and thrust bearing.

@@lafmat962 If the pedal becomes heavier, it may mean that the nylon gear (clutch bearing) is broken and the pedal power is used directly. If you have ever opened a large cover, I suspect that you may have installed the cover's ratchet in the wrong direction.
