Oooo, I’ve never thought about what my book buzzwords would be… Hmm… Books with “Moon” or “Night” in the title catch my eye (although sometimes I change my mind when I see what the book is about 😂), also books with “Little” in the title (I.e. The Little Prince). I also love books with strong, innocent friendship dynamics, especially in children, and fun plays on words throughout the book. I have a “Garden” recommendation for you… (it’s a children’s novel, but it is soooo precious): Tom’s Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce. So cute! And the clock in that book is the coolest thing, too-it has a Bible reference on it, which is super neat.

Great video! I love bookish books also. North Carolinian here and definitely agree with the "y'all" spelling. I have always used the word "y'all" and always spelled it this way. I'm not sure I have ever seen it spelled the other way around where I am from. 😊

Have you ever heard of the Texas Ever After Series? They're fairytale retellings that take place in Texas. The Fairest Heart (a Snow White retelling) came out last year and the next book, If the Boot Fits (a Cinderella retelling) came out this month.

Road trips, Outer Banks, and Newfoundlands, are my biggest buzz words. 😄 If the book has a Newfoundland or road trip or is set in the Outer Banks, I’m definitely checking it out. I do also love friendship themes and fake dating. And obviously if it's set in Idaho that's always cool too! Oh! And I don’t say “y’all”. I say “you guys”.😂 Or sometimes “you all” .😂😂

@@LindseyfromBFCG I bought some chamomile, bee balm, echinacea and lavender. We also got some strawberries, blueberries and rhubarb. I’m hoping to get a couple of roses as well, but me and my mom don’t really know where we want to put them. My favourite purchase though is my aloe vera! I’ve always wanted one after seeing my grandmother’s! She would always use it when I got cuts or burns. What plants do you have in your tea garden so far?
@LindseyfromBFCG
@LindseyfromBFCG 4 ай бұрын
@AWheelz oooooh, I love the list and rhubarb?! I love that pick! I haven’t had rhubarb in years 😂😁 And I totally understand the dilemma of not knowing where to put potential plant purchases, haha! I’m very guilty about buying first and then figuring it out later 😁 Let’s see, I have Butterfly Pea (purple!), Calendula, Feverfew, Comfrey, Arnica Montana, Anise, Lavender, Bergamot and then I did Peppermint, Apple mint, Spearmint, and Lemon Balm in their own pots because I didn’t trust them to not take over the garden bed! 😂😁
@AWheelz
@AWheelz 4 ай бұрын
@@LindseyfromBFCG Wow! You have a lot of really good ones! I’ll have to add some of those to my list! I have everything in pots so far, but I want to plant my echinacea and bee balm in the ground once we know where we want them. But yeah, I don’t trust my mint enough to put it in the ground😂 I love rhubarb! Technically I love any plant with giant leaves, but rhubarb is edible too so it scores a bit higher than the rest lol.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who talks to my books when they fall.😂 I believe we have quite a few buzz words in common. I do truly enjoy the 'friends to more' trope as it is so cute. If you happen to have a few books pertaining to that trope to share I would be thankful. Also, I agree with your dystopian books opinion. I do miss the fiction because now some things don't seem too far off. (I have attempted Divergent and was not a fan, but then again I prefer clean reads, as you do.) You are growing a tea garden? I have wanted to try that as well because I am such a fan of tea! Honestly, I would enjoy a video of your garden stuff if you are open to it. Tropes: friends to more - cf contemporary ya - bookstores - (I have mixed feelings on love triangles.) - several others but they have vacated my mind

I'm from Tennessee, and I definitely spell y'all correctly. 😂😂😂 The Kensington Chronicles by Lori Wick takes place during the late 1800s/early 1900s, but it's in England. (Also, I do remember one conversation in book one you might be uncomfortable with.) We'd had a conversation about Emma, so to add to the suggestion, it also has matchmaking. Melanie Dickerson's books surprised me at my recent reread, with both of them having a faith in most of the books. It was a very pleasant surprise. Deadly Disclosures by Julie Cave is about an FBI agent. But it does have strong themes of alcoholism, depression, and suicide, so I'm not sure if you'd like it. Also the TV show Sue Thomas FB Eye. Though I feel like you've mentioned that show before.... Some of my buzzwords are found family and a man devoted to a child. Yes, I think both of those are present in MBS. 😂😂😂
@LindseyfromBFCG
@LindseyfromBFCG 4 ай бұрын
You get a good star, then, hahaha! 😁⭐️ Thank you for all the recommendations, Morgan! 🥰 Emma definitely interests me with the matchmaking! It’s the longest book of hers, I think, though, so I’m a little nervous to have it be my first Jane Austen book. 😅 Sue Thomas FB Eye is so good! My mom wants to binge them again soon 😂😁 Yes! MBS is great for both of those! I forgot to mention the Found Family trope, but I do really like that one as well-especially with friend groups! 🥰

So funny, I grew up in TN and always knew y’all was spelled this way not…whatever that other way is supposed to be. 😂 Not sure about my buzz words, I’ll have to think about that! Also pretty positive The Lady of Lanaria had both main characters with strong faiths-not sure if this was the one you had in mind or not, but it was the first one I thought of when you mentioned it. Also I TOTALLY love dystopian too! So sad they don’t publish many good ones anymore. 😢 I do have a few suggestions for you! (Sorry if some of these are repeats!) Christian Dystopian - Midnight Hours series (will be wrapped up this year!) - Makenzie Gray (aka Michaela Bush) Dystopianish Manga - Library Wars: Love and War - Kiiro Yumi Awkward around girls MMC + Rapunzel retelling + squeaky clean - Diamond - Kirsten Fichter

In addition to books featuring libraries and tea, I also like home decorating/remodeling (ex. A Christmas by the Sea by Melody Carlson), vacation/travel themes, cozy shelter during storms and family and friends that encourage/help/support each other. My recommendation for Christian suspense featuring an FBI character is The Negotiator by Dee Henderson.

I still haven’t tried a Dee Henderson book, I need to! Thank you for the recommendation, sweet friend! 💗 Here’s a few I’ve thought of for those: •”The Swindler’s Daughter” by Stephania McGee (remodeling) •”Saving Sailor” by Renee Riva (vacation) •”Charting the Course” by Leslea Wahl (unwanted vacation) •”Gone to the Dog” series (encouraging friend group-which you already know, it has to mention it anyway! 😁) • Most of Erynn Mangum’s series have encouraging friend groups as well (particularly the Carrington Springs trilogy and the Maya Davis series!)

I like basically all the same “tropes/buzzwords” as you. Some things I really enjoy in books but don’t find that often in Christian fiction as main characters are telephone or telegraph operator girls, secretaries, department store workers, and butlers or maids. And suspense/ mystery books involving jewel thieves, spies, or burglars, etc., not murder.
@LindseyfromBFCG
@LindseyfromBFCG 4 ай бұрын
Oooh, I can think of some for you! •”Heart on the Line” by Karen Witemeyer (telegraph operator) •”Storing Up Trouble” by Jen Turano (department store workers) •”A Gilded Lady” by Elizabeth Camden (Secretary) •”Full Steam Ahead” by Karen Witemeyer (secretary) • Carol Cox also has three historical mysteries that might interest you! I don’t think have have murders in them, but they’re Westerns and there’s about spies, another about the newspaper industry, and the other is about a general store. I wish there were more historical mysteries with no murder! I feel like most have murders in them to add suspense. Which is fine, but sometimes it’s nice to have something else too! 😉💕
@metallicleoraa
@metallicleoraa 4 ай бұрын
@@LindseyfromBFCG thank you so much for the suggestions! 💕 Storing Up Trouble sounds like a lot fun. And I have been interested in the Carol Cox books, especially the store one. I’ve found that suspense books aren’t really usually my cup of tea, usually too heavy or creepy and I wish that there were contemporary ( and historical) mystery/suspense books without murders but still exciting, with private detectives, diplomats, bodyguards, etc.
