I personally respect the natural feel of your videos, I find it really charming. Jump cuts in other videos can get really obnoxious and make them hard to watch. (Also, I read the first four Discworld books in order and had a good time. I think the Colour of Magic just gets snuffed because it's not as good as his best.)

Each creator does what works for them. I like mine to feel like a conversation and not a TikTok video so I try not to cut unless it is necessary. Thanks for watching!

Dragon Lance is required reading for any fantasy fan. Some of my favorite in fact, my first tattoo was of Raistlin. So excited for you to someday start them. You really only have to read the first two trilogies.

As much as I DELIGHT anyone picking up Harris' work, and at the risk of sounding snobbish, personally I refuse to read "Hannibal Rising" as teh author was bullied into writing it. When Silence of the Lambs was made into a film he sold rights to individual characters as part of the contract. So years later the company went: Hey we're going to make a prequel. You can have a hint at writing something that we can use or we're just going to do it. Also Dragonlance holds so much lovely nostalgia for me, but please go into it knowing that there are some things that will feel very dated in comparison to modern fantasy. If you're not already subbed to Nerd of the Rings they're soon going to be having giveaways when they hit 1 million subs with TONS of high end tolkien merch.

I also would reccommend reading The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic back to back, mainly because they' re one the direct sequel of the other, while the others can be read as standalones as far as I know (still reading the series though so I'm not entirely sure). Loved both by the way!

Something you said in your video just clicked. I've always wondered why I've really enjoyed the way your videos are compared to a lot of other booktubers and it's that you don't edit it. I don't know why I didn't realize that before. What a difference. I can't stand that cut and clip constantly drives me nuts and also you don't play music behind everything for the entire video which ends up driving me nuts well. Just wanted to say that that I realized what's so appealing besides the actual content. Walking dogs so used voice to text. Have no idea how bad this is. Butchered now back to the video

Whatever you do, do NOT bother reading Hannibal Rising. It's not worth your time and Harris was basically coerced into writing it because the movie studio wanted to make a Hannibal prequel and said that if he didn't write a book to base it off of, they'd find someone else to do it. You can tell that his heart wasn't in it and the storytelling is nowhere near as great as those other books.

Dragonlance, has some of the most memorable characters, and very easy to get attached to them. Also if your like me, you need a change up ever so often when reading multiple book series, and Dragonlance is great to throw in to get that change up. Just start with what they call the holy six and decide if you want to go farther, i was hooked after the first three, and usually with them the stories come in threes. Enjoy!

I know you plan to read it some time in the future. Maybe it will help you too. 😀 Mort is the only Discworld book I've read and it was alright. Nothing to sing praises about but not bad either. I would suggest to start/continue after Color of Magic with other book.
