This resonates with me so much. I’m like the Israelites trying to rebuild while still being impure, because of sin. I must repent and turn from my old ways, in order for God to give me His blessing on my life, and to rebuild even stronger than ever. Praise God for revealing this to me!

I would encourage you to focus on the Father. Spend time reading His word and praying, fellowship with other Christians and sharing the gospel with people who don't follow Jesus. He will cleanse us. We won't want sin. Our flesh will, but if we feed our Spirit with all these things, those cravings will dissipate. Lean on Jesus, not yourself. You don't have to clean your life up for Him, and you can't. That's His job. He will work in you to help you have the desire to repent. We are justified when we begin to serve Jesus as Lord. We are being sanctified all the way until we die. If you are saved, you can't unsave yourself. God will work through this and bring about good, but better to have not sinned at all. Trust Him when you do well and when you fail. He has you. The Israelites rebellion proved we can't do it on our own. We can't be perfect. That's why we need Jesus.

It's impossible to escape that theme: Keep the Father first at all times in your life so that He can bless you. Israel walked away from Him constantly, thinking they could have more only to lose everything. Our efforts will be the same if we choose to ignore Him. Excellent work as always!

This is awesome! Just got put on to it for a church group I’m joining. It speaks to what God has been speaking to me about the importance of obedience and doing what He tells us to do because otherwise there will be consequences and undesirable consequences that can be avoided if we are careful and intentional to just do what He says whether in the written Word/the Bible or His Word spoken directly to us. His direction is NOT to be taken lightly. I suffered much & unnecessarily before finally coming to this realization.

i went through many years without God. He never left me, but I turned my back on Him. Sometimes i’m tempted to think that those years were better, I was having fun and i didn’t care about anything or anyone, i just wanted to have fun, while now it’s harder. Praying even when I feel like God isn’t listening, dealing with doubts, trying to control my anger, trying to follow God’s will. It’s just harder. This book taught me to hold on and be strong, and keep going this way, because just like the future glory of the Temple will be greater than its past glory, so will my life be much greater than it used to be if I keep working to get closer to our Father.

The message is brilliant. It is hard for me to read OT books but this has made it easier and I've been reading NT books for a while now and I learnt how important obedience is. The most important. It was through obedience that Jesus died and saved every believer. It was through obedience that the disciples remained at Jerusalem and waited for the Holy Spirit, without whom there wouldn't be a shadow of Christianity on earth.
