If no one knew where Jerusalem, Bethlehem, etc was NO ONE would believe in the Bible. Yet we’re supposed believe in a real city called Zarahemla from the most correct book on earth and nobody can tell you where in the hell it is. Yet we’ve been taught our whole lives how untrustworthy the Bible is because we can’t know if it was translated correctly 🙄 well at least we can point to a map where freaking Jerusalem is!!!!!

I used to live in Oregon. If memory serves, there was at least one Mormon chapel that burned down as a result of a forest fire. But God was really excited to protect a movie set by clearing the air for them? How...creepy.

I took a road trip along the Oregon coast and one of the beaches that I visited was the one that they had used for filming the book of mormon videos. It's called Arizona Beach and it is near Port Orford. My mom lives on the coast and the smoke from the forest fires made her very sick. Also our favorite campground burned down.

Brigham Young told a congregation at St. George UT that the Gadianton Robbers lived in the surrounding hills, so wouldn't it be reasonable to start there? Why is this never talked about?

Smith found Zelph's bones on a Hopewell mound in Pike County, Illinois. Zelph was known to the BoM people from the hill Cumorah or East sea to the Rocky mountains. :>)

@@godsoffspring4195 You can't be this stupid to believe that...or maybe you are.
@takz07432 күн бұрын
@@godsoffspring4195 Exactly. Zelph and mounds and JS and the BoM all point to the eastern US, way too far for the Gadiantons to "commute" from St. George. Even the Rockies are too far from St. George. BY told the congregation that the spirits of the robbers "were so thick" right outside the building, because they lived there when they were alive. Personally, I believe that BY believed he was talking to brainless sheep who would believe anything, and he told them this boogeyman story to "scare them straight" for one reason or another. In those days the Saints believed that it all happened at Cumorah, so I'm guessing that BY assumed their ignorance regarding the distances would be enough to get them to believe him. Or perhaps he meant that some of the robbers "retired" to Dixie after working the Cumorah area. (?) This incident was very well known among the Saints living in the Dixie area and their families, yet I have never heard it seriously discussed as one more item to confuse BoM geography, which I find interesting. josephsmithfoundation.org/lamanites-in-the-rocky-mountains/

I wouldn't underestimate how far people travelled unless specific time frames of travel are given. In fact, I would assume the Rockies to be the prime place to hideout for years because of it's distance and ruggedness. Especially being a no man's land for an agricultural population as the Nephites generally were. I also don't rule out other ranges such as the Appalachian Mountains included. Meaning, there could be times both or either were places of refuge for a time. No, I don't think Brigham was being just pulling people's legs, I think he meant it.

@@godsoffspring4195 I’m sorry, but no true prophet of God will ever kneel to a Masonic priest or take Masonic vows.. that’s considered worshipping another deity, and then your prophet incorporates those Masonic lies directly into your doctrine and temple rituals? Jesus commands us to never swear, but in Mormonism you take ‘oaths’. Those things are abominations in the Christian faith. He was led by something else and that isn’t the Holy Ghost.
