I have always wanted to read Lucy foley (I got some of her books on sale over the years) and 11/22/63 I have started it years ago but put down and never went back- I did see the TV series years ago and the ending destroyed me! 😭 but in a good way. I also have fried green tomatoes - saw the movie as a child and liked it but it’s been like 30 years and I’m sure there was stuff I didn’t get as a 7 year old. I have rewatched several 90s movies as an adult and always am shocked at subject matter I didn’t get at all! I loved catriona wards other book The last house on needless street. That one always enters my mind at least once a week no joke!

The last house on needless street was so good! Give fried green tomatoes another try as an adult. It’s so heartwarming and comforting to me

Have never been a big Stephan king fan. I think because I can’t see pictures vividly in my mind when reading like others can, so all the scenic non-dialogue has its limits with me. That said, fairy tale sounds interesting to try it.

He for sure has a lot of dialogue. I think he is a master of his craft, but I for sure have to been in the mood to read his books

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors but you do need some time to read his books. The Stand and 11/22/63 are excellent reads! You will love them just give yourself some time to get through them. I havent read Fairy Tale but I will check it out.

I’ve never really been into Stephen King either because of all his story setup. However I started fairy tale a month or two ago and got it through Libby, big mistake because just when I was really getting into it, it returned itself 😔I actually asked for it for Christmas so I’m excited to keep reading it. I just had gotten to the point of the old man dying and leaving the boy his house and dog. I actually couldn’t finish the house off needless street. Now you have made me reconsider finishing it

I highly recommend it. I felt the same way. You're reading it at the beginning and not understanding what is going on but then it all makes sense and completely changes course. The last half of the book is super good!

@ ok I’ll try going back to it. It was really hard to get through Ted’s parts. Super grim and difficult to read with his seemingly issues and low iq. I stopped on pg 177 but I’ll try pushing through. Thanks!!

(Aaron here) 11/22/63 by Stephen King is worth every penny that you spend for it. If you have ever seen the movie The Stand, you need to read the book, also worth every penny because the book is completely different from the movie.

I have listened to audiobook “killers of certain age”. It’s an interesting set up / plot and enjoyed getting to know the characters and dynamics among the women, but I don’t think I was impressed with the end. I don’t remember the specifics of ending. So, I’d be curious to know what you think and how it ends 😂
