Can I add that, I have come to appreciate African fiction much more because of you? Your love for them, has influenced me. So I'm always on the look out for them. And each time I read them, I see the stark difference from "Oyinbo" books and how wholesome, and enriching they are. We've got us some immensely talented writers in Africa.

Currently reading “the secret lives of baba segi’s wives” I hope I enjoy it, purple hibiscus is such a simple but powerful story. I recommend mechanics of Yenagoa by Micheal Afenfia & the yNBA by OLAOLUWA ONI

Great recs Jola! I’ve read all 3 and often revisit them. Thank you so much for these recommendations. Everyone should really get 'A broken people's playlist' - I cried and laughed and cried some more. You should also get his book 'Tomorrow died yesterday' - you'll love it.

I have read all three! And I agree, these 3 books are enough to indoctrinate anyone into African Fiction. I would add, This House is Not for Sale by E.C. Osondu, it's a very lovely book riddled with humour. I look forward to watching more videos from you. Cheers!
