Great review!!! I have this book and it's really helped me to learn floral drawing, something I need to develop so I can paint from my own sketches and photographs. I enjoy going back to this book from time to time to work on my drawing skills.

I bought this book, I love it, thank you for the recommendation, just came last night and this morning I had so much fun drawing the flowers, can not wait to paint them tonight. This was the best how to draw book I have used.

Beautiful book. I saw a flip through video lately and I think, I will put this on my wishlist. It would be great to see your process actually working with this book and using watercolors to color the flower.

Thanks so much for this book review Irit! I agree that it’s not easy to find floral line work books. This looks like a good step by step. Thanks for sharing this with us.💕

That book looked so familiar… It only took me half a day, more or less, digging through my art room. But I found it! Can’t wait to see what other books you’ve found. OOXXOO Linda

When I get stuck I go outside to a botanical garden or park or green space and just look closely at plants & take pics at all angles. If you understand the front petal system view, the back view is easy. You can easily practice back, top, & side views! Also a sketching nature book might be good-one for those who do nature journals based on their walk or backyard etc. I’ve found some really good ones (when I unpack them I’ll let you know ....). I also purchased a youth book for a kid that is just good picks & how to record nature. Then you can also get a flower book -like how to identify birds or native flowers etc and draw from that to develop your own style! Start with a couple different flowers and really nail what they are & how they look in a less loose style once you can do that, close all books and just draw draw draw from memory gradually your style will emerge with more of what you want showing touches of what is distinctive about each flower & you can submerge the rest in glorious color!

Finally got a minute to write a comment... 😅 Looks like a nice book! I like the big variety of flowers and break down of countries and continents, makes it that much more interesting. Also like you said, the flowers are not basic but are broken down into easy/manageable steps to follow! 👍🏼

What a beautiful book! I think you’ve probably unearthered another book idea for a follow up book more about bouquets & just focusing on a few flowers from every angle! You might like to check out Leila Duly as well, she doesn’t really show you how to draw, but I really love her linework! And she has a few coloring books which are beautiful! Thanks for a lovely book tour! 🤗✨

Great book review ❤️ I wanted to thank you for mentioning the bellowing heart channel- I love her calm and beautiful colors- I am hook to her channel now lol the same way that I am to yours as you never dissapoint. I wonder if you ever watched creationsceecee channel as in my opinion she is quite relaxing to watch and do amazing doodling and little paintings.

You are so welcome! I used to follow Creationsceecee, her KZbin channel is now doing really well and I'm so happy for her. She seems like a lovely person, but my style is too different for me so I've moved on to other channels :) I mostly seek inspiration and less tutorials to follow, but her videos are fantastic and her artwork beautiful, no doubt!

Nice review lovely book. One you may like to look at, if you've not already, is called How to Draw Modern Florals by Alli Koch (find on Amazon). She shows you how to draw from all angles - reviews for her book are excellent and people who reckoned they could never draw seem to be doing so - and beautifully! If you decide to get it maybe you can review it too ;-)
