Thank you Irit, between yourself and Alyona your inspiration for me is endless! If you ever felt like filming your sketchy rainbow (bright or muted!) abstracts that you showed us here in the beginning I’d certainly love to see the process. Thanks again and take care 🤗

Beautiful colors, Irit. I have been looking at Naples yellow red for quite awhile. Now I need it for sure. It is pretty, even just sitting in the palette, but it would be so lovely in any fall palette. I think Moonglow is my all time favorite color. It was one of the first DS colors I purchased.

You should! There's something about it, it's such a great soft orange for fall!

Hi Irit, thank you for sharing your September faves. Such pretty colours and I think you are not fickle at all - it’s ok to change your mind especially as you grow into your medium and also as the seasons or trends change. Like all artist we are very visual. I’m definitely like that and a complete magpie... ooh a new colour over here! And another... wait there’s this other one I now like... that’s me with paints, crafts and flowers too. I even saw one of my abstract flower arrangers using pampas grass! Oh my so 70’s - but also so on trend. I hated wearing the clothes as a child (a really tiny child!) and the wallpaper 😱 but as an adult I can really appreciate some of the wild combinations and especially the graphics... so I think it’s ok to change and change again. Love the fact that DS Quin Gold💕 made a comeback - it’s so useful for those golden late summer yellows - one of my faves and I don’t like yellow but have quite a few! 😉 Huge hugs, 🌈🎨 Valérie xx

Thanks! Yup, I’m also glad to see Quin gold making me happy again, although I’m running dangerously low... I think the nice thing about past fashions coming back is that we can really pick and choose the good stuff from past decades, and it’s fun!

I have become a big fan of Caran d’Ache products, well the Supracolor watercolor pencils and the Neocolor2 water soluble pastels. It’s not your imagination that they’re great because they’re expensive. They’re just great! I bought a 12 color set of their Supracolor (they were called Supracolor 2 then) water soluble color pencils years ago and didn’t really use them. I finally brought them back out in the recent past and was so impressed by their quality. I have also come to use and love the Neocolor 2 water soluble pastels. Really lovely! I’m sure the Museum Aquarelle pencils, a step above the Supracolor, are really fantastic and a joy to use. Thanks!

So lovely Irit! You’re not fickle you’re evolving + fun to mix things up. This is a beautiful palette. I’m excited bc I have some of these colors and some good dupes so I can paint along. I picked up 2 Caran D’ache pencils and they remind me of gouache. Pigmentation is unreal. Love your Derwent yellow ochre pencil and the graphite. Great that you found the gelli pens to match. So pretty. Thanks so much for sharing your favorite things. I’m inspired!✊🏾💕

I agree - the Caran Dache are superior, much like the polychromos are the tops in smooth colored pencils.
@iritlandgraf4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad I am not the only one who thinks that! I agree the polychromos are fantastic pencils, I just wish they would improve their color range, I prefer Prismacolor’s, Holbein’s and Caron D’Ache’s Luminance range.
@jenniferweisinger60144 жыл бұрын
Irit Landgraf funny- I just picked up some orange teal and gold luminance Pencils (b/c polychromos didn’t have what I wanted) and they are delicious

That Lunar Earth is super beautiful, on its own and when mixing! So happy you introduced me to it and that Hematite. I think the other week I ordered that Dusk Yellow and quite a few more by Rembrandt, speaking of enabling... 🤣

Have you tried the Roman Szmal Naples Yellow Reddish? It's not a color I used a lot previously but I have been playing with it lately and the mixes it creates are stunning! So soft and smokey. I'm obsessed. Love your happy laugh and expressive hands as always. ♡

I think the Roman Szmal version seems to lean a little more yellow/peach rather than straight-up orange.

I love that you've added the Derivan and Art Graf graphite. Im having a major graphite tinting moment and i use the Daniel Smith Graphite Gray just because its cheaper here per tube. I love muting down bright colors and getting the fantastic granulation :) im excited to see how you use it this fall. I can always use ideas.

Hi Irit, Thank goodness, I already have a lot of those items you introduced! Haha!! 😅🤤🧡 I loved those glimpses of the abstracts you showed! I look forward to seeing more of those! 😍🥰🧡 By the way, Derwent Cumberland Pencil Company is British not Australian. 😉 Thanks for always inspiring us!🥰😍🧡❤

Glad you enjoyed! I know Derwent is British... Did I say Australian? Derivan is Australian as far as I know, the brand that makes the liquid pencil I showed.

@@iritlandgraf Oh, my goodness! I am sorry, Irit. I thought you said Derwent instead of Derivan!! I always thought that the Liquid Pencil was one of their many graphite products. But I must have misheard the name the whole time! Actually, this is one of the products I don't have. I am guessing it is because it is not widely available in Germany.... Uggh… Ok, I will sit quietly in my corner now! ;-)

You have found your way away from your bright rainbow (always) colors into the neutral heaven that I always adore. These colors are all the colors that I gravitate to constantly! So now anytime you happen to find something I don't have, I NEED it!! 😂🤷♀️🙈I also wanted to ask you (in case I missed it..) I believe you had mention a brush set you had purchased and planned to share in a favorites video..you had been using a large flat brush from the set (maybe some Italian set?? but definitely well before the trip..).. did I miss it? Did you ever share what it was?? So curious!!

Glad you're enjoying the videos and my new found love of neutrals! Yes, I did mention a brush set, it's a hard one to order as I think the brand does a restock once every couple of months, here's the link, it's the Signature collection of assorted Tintoretto brushes and it is just gorgeous- www.agallocolors.com/shop/new-artisan-paintbrush-roll

Have you heard moonglow is actually fugitive? There is a video here on KZbin. The red component is fugitive when diluted.

I've seen lightfastness testing by Jane Blundell and it was unchanged. Personally I don't mind, but yeah, anyone who does should look into it.

@@iritlandgraf I don't mind either. Actually I am currently testing some of the more fugitive White Nights colors and opera rose from 2 brands just to see how they fade, because I wonder if I should avoid them for work that might be sold.

Liquid pencil in a tube was in a very recent art box ( I want to say from the UK? Maybe Aug?) that I saw people reviewing recently, so it definitely is still around. DS has about 7 greys out now. If you’re interested in seeing how all 36 of the Primatek paints react, you should check out Dr. Oto Kano’s channel. She has one video for each one hand swatches them, does flow, dispersion, salt, wet in wet, etc. for each one. She also does mixing for each one with a standardized set of colors to see if it’s a good mixing color , where it neutralizes, etc. She has several other playlists that you might be interested in, as well. She’s Japanese and based out of Scotland 😁. She’s on a brief hiatus at the moment, but there’s plenty of content for you to catch upon if you’re interested. I’d also like to talk to you about a group that shares DS paints if you’re interested.
