I actually loved the romance sometimes but whenever I reminded myself while reading it that it took place in one day it felt odd. I agree that Yoon is definitely talented though, she'll always get that from me.

No doubt, coming from a young adult’s mind. I really enjoyed reading this book. I specifically went in, reading this to try and understand the perspectives from both characters; since I’m a fan of any genre (including fiction), I went into this story completely naked. The cool thing about both Daniel and Natasha is that both are 17. Coming from a 17-year-old I can definitely pull out traits, like the hopeless romantic in Daniel, and the logical cynic like Natasha. The reactions and perspectives from both sides really had me invested. For a while my suspension of disbelief got involved and I believed they were real teenagers, judging by how authentic they sound. I even thought side characters like Jeremy Fitzgerald, Irene, and Samuel Kingsley were nice additions to the story. Hell, the 3rd person omniscient perspective from God, giving facts about the universe, eyes, or hair I thought was also a nice touch. At first, I wasn’t invested in this, but after hearing their language and references, it made it easier for me to believe they’re two mature teens with two different burdens on their shoulders. Then add in the concept of losing the one you love and I think it’s a great book. One of my personal favorites, that made me think after the story was over. Again I don’t believe this is for everybody but I believe this is a great novel for people in my age group.

I felt the same way. It was a good book but I just wasn't sold on the romance so I wasn't really rooting for them until right at the end which made for just an okay reading experience. I definitely enjoyed other aspects of the novel a lot more than the romance.

With booktubers mostly gushing over the same YA books, you're refreshing. You're so discerning, I know if you love it, I will too. And with this, it sounds like you saved me from a decent but pretty forgettable time. With so many great books out there, I'm glad I don't need to bother. That's what's great about being a booknerd. There's so much, we can treat ourselves to the best. Thanks, Sophie, hugs.

What I loved the most about this book was probably how much effect daniel and natasha left on the people they encountered

I think I liked this book mostly because it was so much better from Everything, Everything. But when I think about it now, the characters are very similar to Elenor and Park. I didn't like Elenor and Park so that's probably the reason I dislike the romance between the characters 😂 However, the immigration part really spoke to me, and I related to the situation on some level. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend the book to everyone.

I just talked about this in my favorites of 2017 video! Although I liked it, it probably ended up on my favorites video because of my reading slump throughout the year. And I definitely had a lot of the same thoughts and concerns about the story life of The Sun is Also a Star. I thought Nicola's writing was for sure a redeeming quality for me though.

The Anatomical Shape of the Heart by Jenn Bennett is absolutely amazing and I know you will love it! I seriously recommend reading it; unlike Alex, Approximately, this book doesn’t have any infuriating parts!!!:))))

I did not finish Eleanor and Park but I also don't swoon over insta-love of which The Sun Is Also A Star for the most part is. Only this time, I did not cringe over Natasha and Daniel as I was welcomed with the multiple workings of happenstance in hopeless romantics, taken aback with the writing go-abouts that only Nicola Yoon can. This video did not downscale my stars (pun intended). I am partly disagreeing and I hope I am not totally disagreeable. I'm just glad Physics and Poetry thrived in the same leaves. #alliteratedyeahiknowsowhat

I actually preferred Everything, Everything to The Sun is also a Star idk. I can see how her books can be problematic. I am not a huge fan of her writing I think it's kinda cheesy but I liked the plot of Everything, Everything

You should really read the book series of Dorothy must die which has 4 books in it and a lot of prequels Anywho not convinced? Well then the first book is 1.Dorothy Must Die 2.The Wicked will rise 3.Yellow Brick War 4.End of Oz It’s a really good book series with adventure action romance thrilling and just full of excitement and the way it describes things in the book is just so descriptive! All the characters are just great, and each book is different and then the first which makes it very interesting The book is about Amy the protagonist who goes to Oz on a tornado, and discovers the Oz she knew growing up on movies is real but Dorothy came back to Oz and got a taste of magic and became a tyrant and Amy’s mission is to kill her, then it takes 4 books but they’re all quite entertaining and very interesting but I have to admit it takes a while to get to the point or to move on to the plot but overall that it’s still a pretty good book, it also has some questions that are unanswered even after 4 books like why Dorothy specifically became a tyrant why the lion the tin man and the scarecrow decided to join her or how she got back to Oz, but you can discover that in the prequels, Anywho I totally recommend this book! It’s really great and I’ll love for you to read all 4 of the books and maybe read the prequels and then give a book review! They’re really great books
