The Book selling guys story was both amazing and sad. He’s a free spirit like he said, someone who doesn’t want to conform and live a boring average life. He went out and tried many things to be successful and live the life he wanted but failed in England so now he’s back home struggling but still doesn’t want to give up and conform. He’s aged but you can still see the young adventurous man inside him. I hope he makes it at some point.

Well... im not sure living on the street is better than having a steady job man.. but you do you. Def an interesting fella. Very good english. I would guess he is of the gypsy people, looked like it. Those have a hard time getting a job in Romania I know at least.. the reputation is not that good of them, which is understandable considering how many of them act. But I hope he finds his way and can get a job. He seemed like a very nice polite guy.

Hello! The 1st thing you have to understand about Romania, Bucharest and all of the big cities in Romania, is that you are completely safe, during on the day and night! The criminality rate is very low comparing with Western countries and you just have to make sure that you choose the right way to enjoy ur time in there. Bucharest is offering so many opportunities to feel good,to feel free,just enjoy your time and everything will be super ok !.... ! Everything is much better than London.....etc

As an English-speaking foreigner living in Bucharest I've never seen it portrayed so scuzzily - never been approached, never had interactions like this, never been propositioned. Maybe they pick up on lad/chav vibes haha. But overall it's a great city to live in, super clean and safe, lots of well-educated people and a great traditional culture too.

I lived in Brazil for a while then I reurned to Romania, Bucharest where I grew up and I was very impressed how things changed so much. In the past whenever I was returning home from west I had depression feeling Bucharest is still behind many western cities but I'm telling you this, Bucharest is really changing fast. You know, when you live with a person that tries to gain some build going to fitness all the time you don't see the differences but go away a year and come back and you see how all that workout worked well. This is how I felt about Bucharest and Romania in general. Bucharest is so full of tourists now nightlife is going wild plenty good food, the people are super friendly, it's safe, even the neighborhood where I grew up became bloody safe you can stay up all night without being afraid getting robbed. The only problem Romania has in my oppinion is service. Poor service experience in restaurants but awesome bartenders. I made so many friends, westerners who chose to move here, from Netherlands, UK, Germany also koreeans. Romaniams like a lot being sorrounded by foreigners, after 1989 after decades of isolationism people have this apetite for people that makes Bucharest in my oppinion the best city in the balkans and probably in whole central and eastern Europe after Prague, people usualy speak english, romanians are known for learning very fast foreign languages. From being an average hater of my own country I came to love this country a lot. I've read many analyses saying Bucharest in the next 2-3 decades will become one of the richest cities in Europe alongside Groeningen and Luxembourg and I can see why, this city grows so fcking fast. From the perspective of a westerner this city is good to invest moneys especially in estates, an apartment that few year ago one would buy with 40.000 euros now they can sell it with a lot more moneys. My advice for all those who wanna invest moneys here go for estates, you will double the moneys.

But romania is definitely hard for some people with less common jobs, as it requires more work for less money usally.

As someone who lives in Bucharest, I can tell you that it is well known that owners of apartments in central locations are renting out apartments in very unsafe buildings. Because everyone who is local knows to avoid these apartments, the owners are renting them out to foreign tourists. Be careful, earthquakes can be very unfortunate events if you happen to be in one of those buildings. They were inspected around 1993 and many were declared unsafe by experts. You can imagine how unsafe they are now, 30 years later. If you want my advice, look for apartments elsewhere, avoid ultra central ones.

Hey Sabbir, No problem my accommodation was on the corner of Piata Unirii, Bulevardul Ion Constantin Brătianu, 37 Bucharest, 030601 For full details find booking.com link in description. The book store encounter was also on the side of Piata Unirii Strada Halelor, 9-13 Bucharest, 030118 Romania And the main party street in what I referred to as the old town was Strada Șelari Bucharest, 030068 Romania Hope that helps 🙂

That is an area where many people born in Bucharest stopped going because it changed into a relatively dirty/cheap/mainstream area. So you went pretty much to what we’d call a tourist trap. That part of Bucharest is not representative for the whole city.
@jamiemooreexplores2 жыл бұрын
Hey,, Yes, I agree actually, after I had spent some time there I saw there were a lot of other nightlife areas which may have been better but this was recorded instantly upon my arrival to the city. You only see one side of the coin (the small side) . In reality a LOT of people struggle just to live . We lack infrastructure . And the ones we have are aging and are not maintained . The exodus is only making life worse and worse in romania (and some other balcanic countries) - since it's getting harder to get by , many are leaving to make a better living (a big portion of them is never coming home !) . About 5 million went to work abroad in the last 20-25 years , a lot of early birds came back , but lately the trend is changing . Go explore some non-tourist areas in Romania , that'll open your eyes (get on a 2nd class train aswell). I won't even get into the wages and hourly rates...... .....It's easy to find a small island of "paradise" if you're loaded €

@@jamiemooreexplores Well, for some the rules are for most of us and a few is not bothered, until you dont bother them with something that they dont want you to see and film. I also have a KZbin channel and since January 2021 I travel accros all of Romania on trains. I have sometimes problems because you are not allowed to film in trains if you gain money from it. But nonetheless I do it discretely. One time I traveled with a local plane from Bucharest to Cluj and didnt have problems at the airport for filming. Indeed I was discreete and didnt show it off. I already subscribed from the start because I am enjoying your content and like to see our country from different perspectives. Welcome in Romania. If anytime you need assistance with trains in our country, I am glad to help you out. Be sure to contact me on my e-mail on my channel in that case. Best of luck for the future and best regards. From what I see, either parts of this video are staged either I lived in a different country in the last 40 years. Just from the first minute, airport taxis will not allow smoking. Video is made to be sensational and start controversy.
@jamiemooreexplores Жыл бұрын
I can assure you not one part of this video was staged bro, I turned up to Bucharest with zero plan and a camera. This is how my first night went. And the taxi man allowed me to smoke in the taxi because he wanted my money. He rushed me into the taxi and then was trying to get a big tip from me after not allowing me to film. I actually feel quite flattered for you to assume that parts are staged and for your use of the word sensational. Maybe check out some of my other videos and you can see this is my general style of filming. There was a lot more of Romania that I saw and documented and maybe you will enjoy

Clubs and pubs and chit chat with young girls students looking for some fun or money 💸 is also easy The country is under construction and I had my best 10 years of my life after I moved to Austria 🇦🇹Vienna ,to work and save money faster Married now and I wish I can go back away from these Germans cold fuckers and stay in Romania where is freedom and friends...but not with these low salaries back there .
