A really very nice video. It is not for nothing that it is said that traveling to other countries can teach you a lot more than countless years of school. But what was most valuable to me in this video is seeing how even people as young as you suddenly think about their previous lives and how much it can change you. All Western countries are doing nothing other than pushing their people into a hamster wheel and driving them until their death. You live in western countries and actually have everything you need, but the majority of people still feel that this way of life just robs you of your energy. You are stressed, driven and therefore unhappy, but you don't always understand why you are so unhappy and dissatisfied. And your example with your comfortable slippers shows that we don't need more than necessary to simply feel happier and more satisfied.
@jamiemooreexploresАй бұрын
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment! Traveling really does teach lessons that no classroom can match, and it’s eye-opening to reflect on how a simpler, more intentional life can bring so much happiness. You’ve perfectly described the stress and dissatisfaction many feel in the West-it’s something I’ve personally felt too. Sometimes, stripping life back to the essentials, like the "comfortable slippers," is the key to finding real contentment. Nice video and also true from my own experience. For yourself and others from the UK who are still relatively young and have lots of energy, it is really important to quickly build a structure around work like you did and not get swallowed up in the party scene in Thailand. Susceptibility to alcohol is always a clear and present danger for many and control of it only at weekends is easier said than done but it often leads to a downward spiral for many. Important at some point when experiencing boredom or monotony after successfully setting up a manageable work routine, to start taking Thai lessons and practicing the language on a regular basis. Similarly, create the same thing with an exercise routine.Both go a long way to sustainably enjoying Thailand after the initial "honeymoon" phase is over.

How did you obtain a work permit to work in Thailand?
@jamiemooreexploresАй бұрын
I got mine through employment with a company my friend opened. In Thailand, you can either get a work permit by being employed by an existing company or by starting your own company and creating a work permit for yourself through it. Hope that helps! I may do a more in-depth video on this topic soon so let me know any other specific questions you have? Also, don’t forget to subscribe if you found this info useful! 👍
@lancemided3251Ай бұрын
@ I thought that to get a work permit for your own company (if not Thai), you needed to have a minimum investment of 35 million baht and that you are restricted from doing certain activities even within that business to protect Thai jobs. Maybe that didn’t exist for you because you have a Thai business partner. I assume that you are unable to own more than 49% of the business which gives your Thai partner the controlling interest in any scenario. That arrangement requires a strong amount of trust and risk tolerance and would not be appealing to many people. I’m not questioning your decision but trying to clarify for those who may be interested in business (or work) in n Thailand that may not have the same opportunity as you did regarding the assistance and support of a Thai national. Thanks for sharing the details as you know them.

Your experiences have given you a certain perspective. Because of the business you are in and the people you meet. Many Thai people work for companies and work incredibly hard with very long days. There are also many who suffer from mental health issues. Loneliness and a single life are problems for many. The difference is that Thai's are generally private people and don't impose on others. Bangkok is not what Thailand is like. It's an international city. Has its own culture. Compared to where I live in Trang it may as well be on another planet..... peoples attitudes, culture and lifeatyle are totally different. Bangkok is very easy for foreigners whoch is why so many stay there in their comfort zone and never know what Thailand is really like.

Westeners using the word farang to other Westeners to be more Thai is rather strange. I do find these newer KZbin channels so one sided. Everything about Thailand is so great. Everything about England is so bad. Well done on not telling us it poured down for an hour then stopped. Get so bored hearing that even if it rains all day. Look forward to your top 5 in Bangkok. Bottom 5 in Thailand. If you think you'd be happy sitting in a park for 16 hours a day earning 400 baht. I dont belive you. No speeding charges ? And you do realise that the government have sent people to london to study the congestion charges. Give it a few more years and your honeymoon period will be over.
@Paul_in_ThailandАй бұрын
If you start to speak Thai, and live here, it becomes normalized to say the word "Falang" to fellow Westerners. We even joke to ourselves that we are Falang, but I always know that i'm English. Videos not so one sided, England is a dump nowadays thanks to both Governments but especially thanks to Labour with it's open door policy in 2007. Yes of course, anyone living here in 400 baht a day would soon be on a plane back to England to make money. What does living in Thailand show you that England still has? Opportunity but that opportunity is nothing to what is was 30 years ago. Of course all governments like to learn how they can tax their citizens more, under the guise of cleaning up air polution obviously. The polution is bad in Bangkok and the age of the vehicles definitely contributes to the polution.

@@toneloc-cz2xi Bangkok in the 90's was 95% Thai. Now it's around 85% Thai, with most of the foreigners coming from nearby SEA countries. Also foreigners back then rarely thought of Bangkok as a place to reside. That came about more in the last two decades

Sorry but Bangkok is not Thailand. It is just another big city among other big cities in the world. Actually, it is much less than other notable big cities as it does not have great museums, theater arts, and other tourist attractions. It does not have all the entertainment value as London, Beijing, New York, or even Chiang Mai. It is nothing more than a business city and a transition city for domestic and international flights. It is only when you leave the city that you find the real Thailand and the magic that this country offers locals, expats and tourists.
@jamiemooreexploresАй бұрын
That’s a fair perspective! Bangkok is definitely unique in its hustle and business vibe, but I'd invite you to possibly give Bangkok another shot, and it may just change your mind. Indeed, the charm of Thailand often shines brighter in its countryside, smaller cities, and cultural spots like Chiang Mai. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! If your enjoying the conversation, consider subscribing to the channel for more content about Thailand! 🌟

Why do you think Bangkok is not Thailand? And why do you think Bangkok is less authentically Thai than other cities in Thailand? Even though the old part of Bangkok has its roots from Ayutthaya, an ancient capital that is hundreds of years old, and Bangkok itself is more than two hundred years old. With palaces, old commercial areas, and many old communities, that is also authentically Thai. And Bangkok has many museums, many art museums and art galleries, but is it you who do not know these places?
@billg7531Ай бұрын
@@HYPERVISION2505 As I mentioned, Bangkok is just a big city. Sure, there are some city charms to it, but compared to many other parts of Thailand, it is dull and uninteresting. Even the vlogs and channel videos can't really seem to spice it up. Where are the videos of the many museums you claim it has? All the videos of parks just highlight greenspace with nothing much else of interest. After living in Bangkok for just six months, I was more than ready to get out and find something that resembles true Thailand. I understand the blowback of those of you who like it there. It just is not for me and what I seek out of my new host country home.
@billg7531Ай бұрын
@@jamiemooreexplores I do appreciate the offer to join your channel. As you will probably only be focusing on the life you experience in Bangkok, it will not be of interest to me. As I have stated, Bangkok is not for me. Best of luck with growing your channel. It is difficult to find success now days, as there are so many people trying to find a niche that people will want to watch regularly. As for me, I am over the condo tours, food reviews, budget videos, nightlife party scenes, and Top 10 list vids. It is a shame that Chris Parker has gone silent. His "Day in the Life" style videos were great. Steve Rosse does not do his channel any longer, but his storytelling was excellent. Tim Newton is offering Thailand news. There was another person that traveled throughout Thailand showcasing the history and off the beaten path sites for people to explore. That is the subject matter that I like to watch on a personal note. The reason I mention these channels is to hope that you can find a successful niche that breaks you away from all the cookie cutter channels that are available. Best of luck and many Godly blessings to you.
