I just found your channel and the books you made are beautiful! I've only just started crafting with leather and have made a few books, but after seeing your videos I see I have a long way to go! I have stamping and sculpting tools, but I really want to try my hand at gold lettering and carving with the heated tools. The only problem is that I have no idea where to start. Do you have any recommendations of tools that I should get, and possibly where to find them?

Hello, Im having a really hard time finding good leather :P i started with 1mm natural vegtan leather, the standard stuff for tooling, and i love teh finish, but its so stiff i have to try and thin it down a lot all the way back to past the point where it will fold over the board :( I just bought some other pre-dyed 0.55 vegtan leather and its so shinny! it looks and feels like plastic which i hate, although i can tell it will be easy to use. What do i need to look for to find nice soft, malleable leather like in this vid but also has a decent finish and texture like you use here? Is it just trial an error till you find a supplier with stuff you like?
