What a relief: no talking, no music! Thank you so much! The peacefulness of the video really enhanced the learning process. If only more crafters realized that their choice of music is often so annoying that it takes away from the experience. Your channel has inspired me to learn bookbinding.

I just squealed with glee when you flush cut the edges! I didn't think anything existed that didn't take up a corner in the back of a print shop (used to work at one). I love a clean flush cut edge (deckled/irregular has it's place)but oh that flush cut! I haven't done book binding in years but have always loved the methodical process of it, as well as the stitching is so relaxing. I found your channel recently and it just got me excited again. Thank you so much for sharing.

Gorgeous book and bookbinding work like all the other projects you've done, I love it! The metallic gold designs on the cover paper are so beautiful! How do you keep the covers so tight and neat when you do the coptic stitch? My covers (not my signatures) always have some slip and sliding up and down every time I open my journal, and I'm having trouble keeping the knots/stitching on those tight enough. What can I do to improve this?

Your channel inspired me so much that i started to create my own book . i also wanted to ask you something , what type of paper do you use because i don't know if this is the same type, i actually used drawing paper ( canson paper since i live in France ) , do you think the paper i use it's good to have the same book like you ? PS : thank you so much again for those wonderful videos , it's just perfect and amazing ❤❤❤❤

As always, so calming to watch you work and to learn from your videos. I tried binding my first ever coptic stitch book the other day and it was a terrible mess 😅 Not only did I get the paper grain wrong, I also made a bunch of mistakes which ended up with me removing and redoing my stitches. I also had no clue on how to keep my thread looking neat. It was nerve wrecking. But good learning. I like all your book cover papers. They are so beautiful. Is there a specific store that you would buy them from?

Keep trying! I've had my share of messy books. 😅 I get my paper from multiple sources, I often just google "lokta paper" or "chiyogami paper".

The initial layer of glue on the board seems to swell it and make it curl. What do you do that makes it flat again?
@bittermelonbindery2 жыл бұрын
Good question... I don't know! I've been ordering chipboard from the same place for years and this time the quality isn't as good, so I'm having warping issues. Gluing the endpaper with PVA and pressing them seems to keep them flat.

I see you measure each signature before you punch the holes. Wouldn't it be easier if you used a punching mould? That way all your signatures will be uniform in every book you make (you only need one mould if all your books are the same size ^^) and you'll save some time. ^^ unless you know the measurements by heart ofc ^^ But these books look gorgeous ❤️
@bittermelonbindery2 жыл бұрын
That's a good tip! I actually measure the first signature then use it as a guide for the rest.
