You’re very fortunate to be able to acquire the bourbon offerings available in Alberta. In Nova Scotia we are limited to basic entry level offerings from bourbon distilleries , there are a few allocated offerings each year but done very poorly by our NSLC and are typically just Buffalo Trace distillery products. Great reviews as always , keep up the great content. 👍

I live just south of the Canadian border and picked up this same version at the duty free on the way home from Vancouver. I had no idea they were different! It’s delicious though and has everything I love about Bookers.

I hope you get some answers to share on the channel, Jon. I go Bonkers for Bookers, but I hope I don’t like this one more that 2023-01E, for my wallet’s sake. 2018, 2020, and 2023-01Es have been amazing to me. I did snatch a 2024 on sale for $69 though.

Bonsoir Jon. I hope you are doing well. I notice maybe I am wrong, that over the years, this Booker’s batch 01E, has typically been released at the beginning on the year, from January to March. However this year 2014, I was waiting for it. And batch 2024-01E was only available in the LCBO around July. And Nothing at my SAQ. But the price is WOW. At the LCBO the price is 146.90 and the SAQ has batch 2023-01E only at $155.95. One day I saw batch 2024-01E available at Craft Cellars in Calgary on special for 69,95 and ordered it with other another whiskey and some wine. So maybe, by having a late release during the year, it was another batch, either 02 , 03, since in the USA they have more than one release, but I have not checked that. Anyway, all that do say that I have not opened it yet but looking forward to it. I really like your comments and videos. All the best from St Lazare, Quebec. Santé Jon.

Glad you could share your thoughts and even better to picked up a 2024-01e for the sale price! I'm not sure what to think on these batches. So far it does not match the -02 or the -03. Maybe it will match the -04 from the US and we got a preview! However it plays out, I enjoy Bookers and I'm very thankful I can often find it here for a good deal. I hope you are able to enjoy the fall colours out your way! I love the clean air in Fall, but we just don't get the colour show you do. Take care!

@@WhiskyNeighbour Bonjour Jon. Thanks for your reply and information on the other batches that are released in the US. I really appreciate your comments. I also like the clean and crisp air of fall. Today was one of them. You are correct about the colours. I think it comes a lot from the maple trees and especially the sugar maple trees. Again i am not an expert on that, I just enjoy it. :-) I also live in a wooded area with pines and oak trees. So yes it is nice and calming. Whatever or whichever one you bought for $69 it seems worth it. I was considering buying 2024-01 but it is $147 here in Ontario. I am not sure if it helps but the proof and age statements for your 2023-01(Charlie's Batch) match my bottle. Thinking back to last year my purchase did not include the story card that usually comes in the wooden box. Did any of your purchases include the story card? I don't want to take that dangerous leap but could their be counterfeit Bookers bottles out there?? Good luck with your investigation.

Conterfeit? Wild. My numbers match some of the International reviewers. Clearly, the 01e is not always a match. Love this Bourbon though, even as I edit and enjoy the day it is just solid. Cheers!

No story cards since I started buying them in 2018 in Alberta. They don't share the same names either, rather the -01E designation, so I wouldn't expect the cards to be there.
