As for the price my friend booked the flight but I know he got a really good deal and it was about $500 from JFK in New York to Haneda in Tokyo with one stop in Beijing. That's round-trip.

On my first Japan trip, I had a 18 hour stop-over in Taipei. I took this time to explore the city and try local dim-sums. Just make sure to be back at the airport early. I know China doesn't require visas for short stop-overs as well. So it's also a good option to extend the holidays.

Incognito mode doesn't stop websites from collecting your data, it just means your computer doesn't save your visit to the site. Airline companies save your IP address and raise prices as you visit the site more. The best way to check prices is to log on using WiFi at a cafe or at work, then order the tickets you want from home.

I don’t know if it’s different for the Bahamas, but for people from the UK, if you’re going as a tourist for less than 90 days, you just have to fill in the slip they give you on the plane, there’s nothing to do in advance.

I book months in advance usually with British Airways . I usually go premier economy and get it at economy priced ticket . But it's all about shopping around for airline tickets . I found BA good . For internal flights in japan I use SKY which is a Japanese version of a Budget airline ie I did Tokyo Henada to Okinawa NaHa pretty cheaply . But I brought on the day after arriving from Heathrow I just tossed a coin and said why not Okinawa. But I will book on line next time . ANA & JAL tend to be slightly more expensive . Lastly their are other budget airlines in Japan. But as this lovely lady has said shop and shop around for plane tickets . Happy travels to all in 2021. Stay well and safe where ever you are and from.

booking flight - Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are always the cheapest days to fly. If you book at least half a year in advance, you get the best price. Don't cheap out on convenience, if way better flight is only 100 eur more, take it. Ticket prices change all the time despite if you're looking at them all day long or not. Price depends on a lot of things, but mostly on how close is the date and how many tickets to particular flight are already sold. It's best to be the 1st one. Haneda airport is usually more expensive and Tokyo monorail is severely overcrowded 24/7. For travellers I'd highly recommend to get JRpass to feel free to hop on and off any JR train any time, with some small exceptions. From Narita to Tokyo station it takes exactly 57 minutes to get by NEX, it's big and comfortable and free for JRpass owners. Keisei line is 3 times cheaper, but can get super crowded. Also Bus ride is roughly 2 hours. Good luck on your next trip.

Cakes with Faces good Moro morning, maybe a change of plan. ANA have a great name so we may book these economy only , do you know if you book online direct with ANA can you chose your seats as I think it’s a 2-4-2 configuration and that would be great to just have a 2 seats rather than 3 a bit more privacy lol many thanks for your help

ANA are rated very highly and I've always liked them. Yes, you can choose your seats if you book direct, you can log in after you've booked and pick them - I always like the 2 on their own as well!! Last time (and I don't know if they've changed this now) it was free to choose seats as well - some airlines charge an extortionate amount for that.

@@cakeswithfaces I would say that in general prices from Hawaii to Japan are very cheap, but again that makes sense since it's only about a 9 hour flight, whereas from the mainland USA it's a minimum of 11 hours. It's also a very popular destination for Japanese tourists, so there are several direct flights every day, even to Sapporo, Fukuoka and Nagoya in addition to the usual suspects of Tokyo and Osaka. A good deal from Hawaii to Tokyo is around $500-600 US typically, so getting this price is really nice for me!

With regards to luggage do you know if you are allowed a standard sized rucksack to take on board the plane as well as your suitcases? Or does it vary by airline?

I've taken a normal backpack before as hand luggage. The large backpacking ones would probably be too big, but regular like the one I'm wearing in lots of my videos is fine. It does vary by airline so check the guidelines, but I think most would allow that in my experience.

I am visiting friends in Japan next year. I thought they lived in Tokyo, but turns out they live in Oita, quite a ways away. I will be flying into Narita. Since I'm arriving in the afternoon, I figured on taking a flight from Haneda to Oita and then take a train from Oita to the airport when leaving Japan. How long does it take to go through customs and then travel to Haneda. Will the train from Narita take me to Haneda airport, or do I need to go into Tokyo and then take a taxi?
@cakeswithfaces
@cakeswithfaces 4 жыл бұрын
Sounds fun! I always wish I knew someone local who could show me all the best places to go! You'll need to take the train from Narita into Tokyo, then take the train to Haneda. From Narita to Tokyo: I take the Narita Express (N'Ex) - it's not the cheapest, but it's comfortable and there are spaces for suitcases. It's only for the airport so you won't get caught up with commuters. It takes about an hour. There are cheaper options (Keisei Limited Express train or buses). If you take the N'Ex to Shinagawa, from there you can take the Keikyu Line straight to Haneda Airport. (Only about half an hour) www.japan-guide.com/e/e2027.html www.japan-guide.com/e/e2430.html www.jreast.co.jp/e/nex/ I loved the Beppu Hells, which are in Oita: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5mkgH2uZbF9gs0 And if I went again, I'd visit Yufuin!

Usually you don't have to, but ask when you check in and you can also check with flight attendants. I haven't looked at prices recently (I'm waiting to see what happens before booking anything, as it's so unpredictable right now) but it's not a normal situation at the moment so prices will probably be abnormal. I usually book mine quite early (because I like having something look forward to!), or whenever there's a deal or sale on, or the prices seem good. But not everyone does! Keep an eye on the prices and lock them in when there are good fares! If you're planning for October/November 2021, check the cancellation terms carefully, because foreign tourists still aren't allowed into Japan, and there's no news on when the border will be re-opening. Personally, I'm holding off booking anything until we know what's happening.

I've always packed light and brought items home in my suitcase. Some airlines allow two suitcases each, so that's also a cost-effective option eg you can take an empty large bag or holdall inside your suitcase to use if you need to. So if (for example)a direct flight of 12 hours leaves the UK at 2am(UK time) does it arrive at roughly 10pm(Japan time)?

virgin dont fly london to tokyo any more, but ANA is nice. KLM are good (friends hove flown the trip) if you want to go from Cardiff or Bristol (& heathrow) and dont want to go all the way to london. the flights go via paris or Amsterdam. Cardiff or Bristol you can do it in 14.5 hours (check the flight times). but i would its rather spend 3 hours on the plane than 3 hour on a coach. and cost about £650 return all in.

Russell williams Good tip! That’s a good price and 14.5 hours isn’t too bad. :-)

@@addisonroux4417 Thanks for ordering my book! Some airlines aren't operating at full capacity yet so hopefully as they get back to normal the prices might drop. 🤞🤞🤞 The fares for my flights have gone up and down so much (even day by day) since I booked in October.

What about shipping your luggage to the hotel ahead of time? Can it be done?
@cakeswithfaces
@cakeswithfaces 3 жыл бұрын
There's an excellent luggage delivery service in Japan called takuhaibin (also called takkyubin). They'll have a counter at the airport, and you can also send luggage between hotels. I normally carry my suitcases with me to save money (not that the service is particularly expensive) - also bear in mind that for some trips it might arrive the next day, so you'll need a bag of overnight items with you. Details here: www.japan-guide.com/e/e2278.html

I thiiiiink so! Whenever I've gone, the arrival day has been the day after departure day. (Almost got that wrong once and booked my hotel for the wrong day!) It's a bit confusing! :-) And then when you fly home you have one really long day.

Something that just popped up. When booking your flights and hotel. What are some key things you think people need?
@cakeswithfaces
@cakeswithfaces 3 жыл бұрын
For a hotel, I think the most important thing is that it's close to a station. You'll be travelling on the train a lot, so you don't want to have to walk a long way to get to it every day. From there it's a case of finding somewhere that suits your budget. For the flights, look at the arrival times, and if there are stopovers, make sure they're not too long. Haneda Airport is preferred because it's closer to the city than Narita, but I'd book flights to either airport if they had good fares! Personally, for my next trip I'd feel safer with a direct flight (just in case quarantine rules are introduced for a country you've changed flights at). Also in the current situation, I'd consider how reliable the airline is, and whether they're likely to go out of business. Check their policy on cancellations/date changes just in case. Hope that helps!

Research your destination , airline tickets book way way months in advance if you can . Dont take the first price thrown at you . Airlines now will go all out to get you on there aircraft . Great deals can be found ie premier economy for the price of a economy/coach class ticket . I got that price with BA direct and then ended up in business class to Seoul and to Tokyo trips on BA and booking with the airline direct could save you money . Best of luck on air tickets . Hotels well I found good deals at JAL hotels one I use is at Narita airport . Toyoko hotels loads of them good value . I appreciate their are various budgets involved . The japanese call them reasonably priced hotels . Again shop around and book way in advance. Have a lovely trip .

Is $900 USD cheap for a Tokyo Japan flight? Or should I wait for the price to go down?
@cakeswithfaces
@cakeswithfaces 4 жыл бұрын
I only really know about prices from the UK; for 2 people from London to Tokyo return it's around £1000-£1200. You can get cheaper but they often involve a lot of changes or long stopovers.

The old rules of booking early do not apply anymore, I believe. Especially flying out of Japan, there are always last minute deals, especially if you fly via Beijing or Taipei. China Airlines gets you out of Japan for 300 dollars, no problem. ;-)

I don't know much about moving to Japan to live there - but there are lots of other videos about that on KZbin! I've heard it can be difficult if you have pets as lots of places don't allow them. I'm not sure if Sharla in Japan has any videos about that, maybe in her Q&As, as she has cats!
