Very interested in taking the class! Would I be able to figure out how to make books in 1:12 scale after this class, or is this very specific to this size?
@NiktheBooksmith3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathryn! This class teaches a specific size. I suppose someone who has decent math skills could size down the instructions to 1 :12 scale but I'd think there would probably be other tweaking needed along the way.

So does this teach you how to design your own mini book? I have a few ideas I want to do for memorizing scripture / printing old sermons. How can I learn how to design my own?
@Aegopodium4 жыл бұрын
I simply cut paper to the width of the signature and put 4 pages on one page. I have 2 pages on my monitor, side by side. So it's really easy to insert the gfx. My books are only 1" wide though. In this size you will need a laser printer to be able to read the text. The endpapers are OK on a inkjet printer.

Hello! great job, I love it! Do you use a specific program to down scale the pdf file?

I have been impatiently waiting for this! I’m so excited to start! Edit: could you use watercolor paper or would that be too think of a paper?
@NiktheBooksmith4 жыл бұрын
I thought watercolor paper was hefty, like 140# -ish? 🤔 I like to keep the mini book pages around 20-24# like standard copy paper thickness.

Wow, the class is very reasonably priced for all the work you put into it. My giant book keeps get pushed off to the side. Even though I almost have all the signature sewn together, and the base cover is done. Maybe miniatures are the answer.
