I think this message was really important for fans to understand. I have had conversations with a lot of friends who are Kpop fans. Getting tattoos of their favorite idol's name and giving away relationships and everything thinking they will get married to those idols is bad fort them. I, for one, had that kind of love for an idol too and I think it's really common when you are young but as we grow, we need to understand this stuff.

Yes, I went through this problem when I was in my teens. I am glad I got out of it, although the very worst reality hit me, and I went through a very tough cycle. However, by the age of 19, I was back to reality. Growing up now, I know what went through. I'm glad these young ladies are making a lot of teens aware of this problem. I truly appreciate it.

12:19 onwards completely blew my mind, i never thought there could a be a reason as to why the New Jeans and Heeso's moods are always at the same page, whether it's sadness or happiness. I also knew what Ditto is suppose to mean but I never thought of applying its concept to Heeso and her fantasy. Anyways, thank you for this. You always make the best theories among others!

I’ve not watched the full video yet, just a little part, but it’s crazy how dark this is. It’s just like Kpop idols and fans. At first, fans listen to the idol’s music, just for distraction and because they love to hear their soothing voices etc. But slowly, they get so absorbed into that illusion that idols love me, I want to go meet them, they’re my only happiness etc. that they neglect everything that actually will give them happiness, which is not just a fantasy. They keep giving excuses as in, they make me happy, they’re my only source of happiness and motivation but they’re not. It just keeps you from becoming successful in life. You’re so absorbed into that illusionic world and fantasy, you literally aren’t practical anymore. You can’t apply your brain, because all it is about is idols and fans and music and kpop. Many ppl like to it’s not a distraction, but it is. It’s all a fantasy world, and that is exactly what companies want. To create more clones of these idols, so the world can be all about just dancing and music, and starving yourself and strict diets. You’re being controlled by someone else, that’s what Kpop is all about that’s why they’re making it all about. I’m really glad new jeans released this mv, and their agency planned it, it really was necessary for the delusional fans we see today. I’m happy I’m not a part of all that, i don’t use kpop to escape reality, but just for light fun

this actually made me realize why i took a two year break from kpop, I actually had the syndrome or mindset of Heeseo for almost two and half years. Before getting into kpop I already was on a dark place mentally, and I guess my brain created a fantasy that my favorite groups were always with me and were my friends. It took for my mom to actually call me out on my behavior and a psychologist to help me, the two years of just casually listening to some songs and unfollowing the idols I liked did a lot for me. Ive come back to the kpop community but now with a boundary and more maturity to know that "yes they exist and yes they might love their fans... but we're just that... idol and fan". When I watched ditto I cried a lot, knowing that I was in the same exact situation as Heeseo

Love the theory. I think the story is clear, it’s obvious Heeseo imagines the girls but I feel like everyone’s theory is the story’s base but there’s so much more. I wanted to share these and see if you have any ideas on it. 1. it’s evident in side A that the glitches on the camera only happen when Hanni appears on screen. We don’t know why but I feel like she plays a bigger part than the girls. Her behaviour and movements are also different even her photo cards. 2. Can you come up with a logical explanation to why the girls don’t exist yet Heeseo has evident footage of everything? I don’t understand it either. Could the camera be magical? Or is Heeseo imagining them through the lens? 3. I like the idea of the girls existing but not knowing Heeseo, but I thought that scene was just Heeseo realising this isn’t reality and she’s understanding her fantasies. 4. The blending with nature has me a little confused. Could you elaborate on that some more? 5. The phone scene also had me really confused like, if the girls didn’t even exist how was Heeseo communicating with them? But with your theory it kind of makes sense except I don’t think new jeans actually exist in this world. They’re just an imagination so is she creating the phone call herself? 6. I saw a theory that in the ending it was actually Hanni, do you think this could be a possibility? Everyone said the back figure resented Hanni with her short hair

I believe, the meaning of this mv is the imaginary relationship between fan and idols. For Hanni, I also don't really understand why every time she appears in the camera frame there will be a glitch and she is the only one who always looks towards the girl Heeseo. Maybe in other terms Hanni is Heeseo bias? And there is a scene where Heeseo tries to move on from her imaginary life. And in the scene where Minji calls her but she tries to ignore it. It's like her imaginary kpop life trying to call her back when she in loneliness and keep haunting her. And in the final scene, she looks back at newjeans through the recording tape as if recalling old memories and the source of her happiness.

I think that this is because they make a analogy to the "biases" with the friends, in kpop is usual that you have a member that moves you, that caught your attention and you feel connect to it, so i think that the reason why Hanni is so predominent in the video is because Heeseo see her with "most" confort, like the way we conect more to our biases, and that makes sense because she is the only member that looks to the camera

please read this! so basically newjeans is trying to tell us something very important that all k pop fans should know. here is the meaning of ditto mv: to begin heeseo represents us as we all know. newjeans represents newjeans, and all the other k pop idols. the boy that is stealing heeseos attention represents our reality and the camera heeseo uses represents our phones, laptops etc. heeseo is a depressed, lonely, young fan that uses k pop to escape reality, the only thing that makes her happy. but she gets a little to obsessed with k pop that she thinks all her problems are solved and that k pop saved her life but the reality (the boy) is always there with unsolved problems that she escapes. and when she realised that her problems are still there and that all this newjeans stuff is just imaginary friends. she quit, she throws away her screen (the camera) and all the content she is watching and chooses reality and to solve all her problems. as she is in her reality now, she accindentally walks by newjeans having fun dancing in front of the train without her, this dosen't mean newjeans didn't like heeseo. it's just that they never knew her... let me explain. so all k pop idols and k pop groups have millions of fans and ofcourse it's impossible for the idols to know every single one of them. they won't notice if you leave because there is still millions of fans left, if they say we love you bunnies, they are not talking about a specific person. so what they are trying to say is that you shouldn't waste everything you have and all your time. they don't want you to be to obsessed and give up your reality when they can't give anyhing to you and don't even know you.

I believe that if Ditto was from the fans point of view, then OMG is New Jeans point of view. You can figure that out from the 1st minute when she says she is an Iphone and that she exist for you, you meaning the fans. Minji is the doctor because she is the leader and many within the fandom make her out to be the mom of the group.
