I'm no professional but I can see a slight edge in using the DOM like viewing where parked buy and sell orders are and how liquid the market is. The reason why candle sticks are so powerful is because every thing relates to time. Considering market open, close, session, end of week, end of month etc... You can watch market patterns that replay over and over. Scalping on the charts without the DOM is gambling but trying to get in on a chart trend can reap great rewards.

Not so sure your point was made, to disregard what others might be doing using Tech levels, but not show what you are doing somewhat blurs the point... Not once did you show a side by side of the DOM and Tech level at the same time to evaluate a outcome while in a trade ... How would it differ? where is the advantage regarding executing an entry or exit through a trade. Watching a blur of numbers without any structure? how does that help? where is your entry ? where is your exit? what would you base this on ? Cant just keep saying "Im not here to teach you to trade" and leave out the most important part of your argument that the DOM has a distinct advantage over Tech levels , but not once show a comparison or not one real life example how this could play out ...

Why is it that when a trader has something that works from their perspective they do the most to sound like what your doing to be profitable isnt the right way to trade. Making money is the end game but as long as what you do works right?

I know traders that use dom scalping trading, and it is nothing to do with charting and all classic stuff, 99% does not know what it is and can not even imagine what all this is about. You have to pay some money to get trained. It’s very interesting method and very very different from any common trading staff. If you does not try it, you will never understand, its mechanical attentional reactional intuitional way. I know view traders doing this at high level. Definitely not for everybody

I am intrigued to hear of trading with the DOM, as I am familiar with the benefits of TA and I know that Time matters... how can you trade the market without regard for the time of day or time of critical news events? Algorithms are not random, but designed to manage randomness. The market has many different characteristics that technical analysis helps to identify them.

Charts where created to give Temporal Dimension to market, in economic reality it’s only Price x Transactions; that exists. This is his argument in this video. What’s your counter?
@simonov_spas9 ай бұрын
@@amorfati4096Why should there be a counter argument? I have a 5 min chart with composite and daily volume profiles on the right, on the left I have bookmap. He sees numbers, I see lines. The only difference is the presentation.

This is one of the most repetitive presentations ever. Three videos so far of “DOM rules, charts drool” and no actionable information. He barely even mentions Bookmap. Who is Gary Norden anyway? You can’t find any real credentials on him, his courses are super expensive, and there are no reviews or Trustpilot entries on him. Im really skeptical of this guy, even though what he says makes sense. I hope Bookmap has a good reason for having him on besides a payment or affiliate commissions.

There's a big difference between "I don't know or practice X" and "X doesn't exist". Norden persistently and annoyingly conflates the two, in a way that I think really limits the usefulness of this sort of presentation. EDIT: Also, the notion that one can look at charts at indefinitely many timeframes has apparently never occurred to the speaker over his long and illustrious career.

As a former chart user I agree with Gary. Charts are generally useless for short term trading. I do keep a quote board up that shows the current daily bar for all the markets i watch, so at a glance I can see if various markets are moving together or if correlations are breaking down. But that’s just for general context.

Ignore CHART at your own peril. Chart has its place in trading. Man is a repetitive creature. Even in animal kingdom there is repetition only if you are willing to observe. Plot all man’s action and inaction in a chart or graph then you will see the pattern. There is no randomness.

The problem with softs is that ICE has very retail-unfriendly real time L2 data... Around $150 per exchange per month. I dont know why they dont follow CME, Eurex, etc. with their pricing style... Maybe they dont care to attract retail or dont have enough demand from them.

The style norden advocates is worth learning but my god is it hard to listen to him when every 2 seconds he is saying everything to do with a chart is useless. I mean, its obviously not and hes streaming on a channel literally created and paid for by succesful chart traders. But whatever. Its a shame that listening to Norden involves such a difficult process of ignoring all his petulent off hand comments about other forms of trading.

Wow, this guy is obsessed with pattern traders. Emotion way beyond reason. So far what I heard was during volatility its all random but, apparently there is some (?) correct way to trade randomness. So that means you just trade is randomly because randomness is nonsense (i.e., no bias, no pattern). I heard repetitively that pattern traders "make mistakes" and that's where DOM traders, being in the now as they are, can capitalize on pattern trader mistakes - although this "how" was never explained. This was more of a rant then anything useful. I didn't learn anything and I really want to know how BEST to use this tool. Watching this was an hour of my life I can't get back. Do better Bookmap!!
