Mary Downing Hahn and Betty Ren Wright were two of my favs as a kid. Pretty sure they're a big part of why I'm so in love with Victorian gothic stories today!

When I was in 5th grade we had to read a book in a group of a few kids then put on a play about the book. Wait Til Helen Comes was the book my group had and we had so much fun making our little play. Still love that book!

From 1985 to 2006 I worked as the librarian in a small town!! I love horror and science fiction so I made sure I bought plenty for those and other genres!! The Goosebumps, Animorphs, Fear Street and ya horror/ thriller paperbacks were very popular! I also bought two other series Strange Matter and The Bug Files(YA) horror!! Don't know if you ever heard of them! I loved my job but too many Christian fundamentalists raised hell so to speak even though the library had a large Christian fiction section! When I visited the library 3 years ago the current librarians got rid of all the adult, YA and middle school horror books!! Several people said that the library doesn't order new books monthly like I used to do! Some people just don't get it!!!

Just bought and read AutumnCrow. Loved it. Pumpkin Light was my favorite - I want to see a Studio Ghibli interpretation of that one. It was colorful, fantastical, romantic, spooky... also great bookshelf tour. I have to watch at least twice so I can write down all the books I want to read. I'm a librarian and can't keep up with you! It's amazing how much you know about the genre. And three cheers for Paul Zindel!

You have the most interesting sets of novelty items and knickknacks. I'm not much for those because I don't have the space to display or store them properly but seeing yours makes me want to collect some, too. I've started reading middle grade horror books because of you (your collection includes a lot of titles and covers that're really eyecatching). They're such absolute fun, just the perfect length for the free time and attention span I have.

Oh my god, what a flashback when you showed the covers of The Scariest Stories You've Ever Heard books.....I'd totally forgotten about them!!! This was great to put on in the background while I was working. I have a huge soft spot for middle grade.

As always so very entertaining. This cat is as impressed as ever by the very excellent way you present your books. Such a knowledgeable biped. All the little stories that comes with your books makes it so very genuine as opposed to many other book tubers who seem to have an affinity for just relating titles endlessly, "and then I have... and then I have... and then I have" But I have mentioned that before and as a cat I usually fall asleep at that and wonder if they even care anymore. You are smarter and know your authors and series so well. A clear paws up from this cat!

These bookshelf tours are great! I love the artwork on the old Apple Paperbacks. Cool to see that you have some Bruce Coville books too. My Teacher is an Alien was a childhood favorite of mine (I see another commenter has also mentioned it). Sadly, I don't know what happened to my copy. Maybe it will turn up again one day.

I finally finished this video! Been watching it in bits and pieces as I've been out of town so much and been pausing it a lot to add books to my wish list! I added SO MANY books after watching this video. Love the So Weird book! That was a favorite show of mine growing up. I'm definitely going to order Rats and Frenzy which both sound incredible. Haha, who am I kidding!? I'm gonna buy a ton more than just those. Great video, Creep! Thanks for making this tour video for us 🎉👻

Awesome collection like always! I recently read My Teacher is an Alien by Bruce Coville and I was surprised by how good it was. And the Witch of Blackbird Pond!!! I absolutely LOVE that book and hardly ever see anyone mention it! Not at all horror or "scary" but it's a great read!

I had just finished eating when you read the excerpt from the Rats book. Made me feel totally queasy not going to lie 😂 But oh my god, Disney. That is truly hardcore. And the thing that struck me the most was that from the look of things that's only like 15-20 pages in? Jesus.

Another awesome library tour! Some of my comments are going to intersect between this video and the previous one. I read the first 8 Last Apprentice books… love that series!! Really fun stuff and spooky to boot! I loved the Eyeballs series. Never read Eyeballs for a Midnight Snack but the first two are super fun, even though the first two aren’t horror. Eyeballs for Breakfast and Eyeballs for Lunch. The Riverman trilogy looks super interesting. You gotta pick up the second one, The Whisper and the last one, The Storyteller. Already picked up 2 from your collection: Witch Doll and the Wikkeling. Both look suitably creepy for October! Keep up the great content, Cameron. I love middle grade horror and need to get back to reading more of them! Currently reading through December Park by Ronald Malfi and definitely reading some MG horror next month! Btw, I have fond memories of the Witch of Blackbird Pond because in college I played Judge Talbot in a play. Awesome times.

Hey Cameron!! I just found your channel and I am super impressed with your library also a lot jealous…I was wondering if you could help me though…when I was in middle school there was this book I got from the library repeatedly I loved it, but can’t for the life of me remember the title…it was about this group of kids who ended up being stuck in a cave with vampire worms? Sorry that’s about my only memory of any detail but if you or anyone could point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful!!

I have a recommendation but it's also kind of asking for help I read this book when I was in school all I remember about it it had a rat on the cover and it had fangs in the title or maybe fangs was all the title was I can't remember who the author was and I have a hard time finding it when I try to Google it I managed to find some information about it like a year or two ago but I didn't save the web page so now I can't find anything I don't remember much about it except there was this kid I think it was a girl and she was like the weird one in town everyone even some of the adults weren't too crazy about her she was the town outcast and there were a lot of crazy creepy things happening and I don't really want to spoil anything but it wasn't until I was older that I realized that the book is basically a retelling of the Japanese fable the boy who drew cats anyone who knows anything about this book maybe where I can get a copy it would be much appreciated
