He wants to be glad, they were all able to throw the hero completely off their tails… but there’s a sense of guilt that seems to shroud around him. Guilt? Really? Out of anyone, someone as cold as Ollie… guilty? Because Vanessa decided to spill the beans…? It’s not his fault she’s gullible, right? “Are you alright there, Oliver?” The villainess took him out of the not-so-comforting thoughts as she took off the mask over her face. The teenager just seemed to stutter, before quietly nodding. The Villainess gave him a slightly worried look, accommodating to the height. “I’m not sure how you’d figured that whole thing out, but there’s something you aren’t telling me.” She gave him a sympathetic look. “If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine. Do not beat yourself up about it though…” She walked right past Ollie as she spoke. “You did great today.” He faintly smiled in response, trying to hide how shitty he’s been feel right now. “Right, right…” After that, Ollie walked away, to a less crowded room to think. Pulling out his phone, Oliver realized. Vanessa hadn’t… blocked him yet. Maybe she just forgot, or just is busy… or… *”You okay?”* This is a horrible idea, he just knows it. Ooc: First time doing one of these! Idk, may continue this later… someone else can do it from Vanessa’s POV in the replies! :]

Vanessa waited by the phone, wondering if he'd even notice she hadn't blocked him. Wondering if he'd take the bait. She remembered the first time she'd seen Oliver, hair glinting in the sun, a wide smile stretched across his face. It had seems such a chance meeting. Had he known all along? Was it a trap from the start? The hours they'd spent walking the streets, just talking, or peeking into unknown stores to peruse unusual wares. The days spent together working on homework or watching movies. He'd seen her cry. She'd told him everything. What a mistake. How naive she had been to think he could be trusted. She couldn't picture his smile anymore without seeing the thick red blood seeping down her mother's side. The team battered and bruised limping back into the base, her uncle being supported as he shuffled in his leg dragging uselessly across the ground. She glanced across the room at her brother, fussing over his equipment. He flashed her a thumbs up and a wan smile. "I'm ready. If he calls I can trace the signal. We'll get him." Vanessa tried to smile back, but couldn't manage the gesture as she nodded in agreement. Oliver would pay for this. He'd learn that being the child of heroes didn't make one a hero. She'd cross lines her parents would never approve of if she had to, but he would regret this. Sorry I know this a little (a lot) darker than Oliver pov. I hope it works anyway. Also I just checked and Oliver texted, he didn't call, but honest the two don't really work anyway, so just call this a darker AU.

​@@Strawberriesandwarningsigns Hii, I'm not the writer there, nor would I call myself an 'expert', so do take my words with a pinch of salt, but I may have some tips for you!: So, if we look at the commenter's story, the first thing I'd notice is that the pacing/cadence takes its time to describe each character's expression, demeanour, actions/stance, so on, and all considering what the main character would notice most('cocky', 'sympathetic', etc), as well as mixing in sensory details(hand on shoulder, etc etc) And also, the main character's thoughts are written out very vividly too, like how they try to justify Vanessa not blocking them, basically again, the time is taken to focus on what the main character thinks and feels, and I know some people don't like when that's 'overly spelt out', but I feel like I love that, to play around with a character's inner world and the world through their lens, with what their thought about a certain event/thing/anything is, so yeah, there's definitely a different balance here for everyone^^, but I hope the tips were overall helpful, because just like the original commenter's, it's my first time writing LONG tips in a comment section😭so thank you for reading it, and I hope it was worth your time!! (And also, yes this seems long, but I'd say the trick is to immerse yourself in your story, and just keep writing in a way that's fun to you, and eventually all of those little things might feel so natural you mightn't even need to consciously think about them too much!)

Everyone’s arguing- the room is in chaos Caterina blames Stevenson, Mom blames Mr.Erics even though she doesn’t show it. I am- listening, as usual, like a ghost. And that’s when a text from Chase pops up. “Wanna play chess?” I welcome the fresh air in the park, “How has your mom’s crew been doing lately?” He asks casually moving a bishop into place, a gust of wind blowing through his perfectly fine hair “Not good, our plans got leaked and now we’re in chaos” I respond honestly He makes a move with his pawn, when I suddenly realize something. “You didn’t tell anyone did you?” I ask, “did I?” He muses, then suddenly a pair of hands grab me from behind. “Checkmate idiot” a sneer replaces his usual kind smile as he topples my king. Don’t ever trust anyone” then the sweet scent of sedative fills my mouth, my nose, and the two strong hands stuff me into the back of a van. Tears flowing from my eyes, fury coursing through my veins.

Remarks and questions being thrown left and right, with no leads or ideas on how the villain knew their plan, much less outsmarted them. Janette tiredly listened to them argue. Her phone vibrated in a shelf drawer, pulling it out she looked at the multiple messages and phone calls. A small wince left her. Scrolling through the majority as each one's tone got more anxious. 'Jay, where are you?' 'Don't tell me you went out.' 'JAY' 'I SWEARGJGFD JAY' 'Call me' 'Please call me' 'Im sorry are you alright' 'Baby please call' Janette typed out a response. 'We....' She started out then erased the beginning. 'I got out. I'm fine. You got a mean right hook.' Almost instantly he responded. 'Oh baby, I'm so soso soso sorry.' 'Please don't be mad' 'Do you need me to come over?' A small smile graced her tired expression at the gesture. One of her teammates voices brought her out of the textual conversation. "Hey Jane, do you have any theories?" Looking up she shook her head, brushing through her ash matted hair. "Our external communications might've been compromised or one of the police left a bug, again." With the direction changed in the mystery, Janette leaned back into her chair, her body ached. 'I'll see you later' She sent. 'I'll be waiting' Was his response.
