I literally haven’t read any books in like five months because I’ve been in a massive reading slump and any book i picked up I found really difficult to get into, but I picked up The Shadows Between Us the other day (since tricia levenseller is one of my favourite authors and i thought it might help me get out of my slump) and it was AMAZING! I literally read it in a day and I would highly recommend it to anyone

When you do read The Shadows Between Us, I’d suggest reading it with the understanding that it is kind of comical. :) like not hugely serious (which I feel like should be obvious, but other people I know that have read it weren’t enjoying it until I told them to try shifting their lens). :)

Yes Hailey!! You got this!! I believe you have the power to resist the book buying compulsion 🎉 I think to motivate yourself you can set a challenge to only buy a book after you've read three or four from your physical TBR. This way you'll get to buy something from time to time, but keep on getting the TBR down 💪

Thirteen doorways is one of my favorite books of all time. Its a beautiful and heartbreaking story and has great character development. Basically, its narrated by a ghost who’s following Frankie over a few years. As the book progresses, the ghost narrator’s story is revealed and parallels Frankies story. Its an empowering story and a really interesting look on wwii/the ends of the Great Depression. I definitely recommend it.

I listened to the audiobook for Tweet Cute and LOVED the story, which I rarely do with YA romance. It's sweet, engaging, and just leaves you with so many warm heart feels. It's good to read if you just want to relax if you're stressed (or wanting to pretend the world isn't crashing and burning).

Omg the hard-to-pronounce name is basically my name! Except mine is without the h. I’m northern English so I say it as Ma-ree but it’s Gaelic/Scottish so the name with the “h” the “mh” sound would technically be a “v” sound although a lot of people with the name just pronounce it as an “m” sound. Really enjoyed the video too!! 😊💖

Omg I have read the Shadows Between Us and I loved it so much! Not the best fantasy book out there (some elements are very similar to other books) but it’s still a super good book despite its flaws! By the way, i love your videos! Your content is so good and fun to watch!!

I really liked The Midnight Lie. It’s set on an island that’s pretty isolated and whilst it’s been a few years since I read The Winner’s books it didn’t really remind me all that much of the world from that series because the setting is so different

I read The Kingdom of Back and I enjoyed it so much! Nannerl was a real person. There is a magical element and faeries, but it wasn't as much as I expected there to be. Still an amazing book though!

Evie Lowe I thought it was pretty good! The writing style was more flowery than I like, and it’s definitely written more for a middle grade audience than YA, but if that stuff doesn’t bother you then you should totally read it

I know a lot of places are closed at the moment so this may not be an immediate solution, but it just occurred to me that I've never heard you talk about borrowing books from a library before. Do you have the ability/desire to do that? That's something that's really helped me keep my book buying to a minimum. Then the books that I adore and absolutely have to have, I can go ahead and buy for myself later.

At the beginning of the year a local secondhand store had Buy 5, Get 5 Free followed by the annual library sale....so my TBR list started big this year. I feel your pain about trying not to buy books. Resistance if futile 😖

I love Maihri McFalanes Books, they are such fun summer reads. In my opinion she defefently developed her writing experience and is now a better writer than she had beend when her first book came out.
