Such a wonderful selection!

Great list. Jean Stafford is someone I have yet to read. I hadn't realized she was married to Lowell. The Agatha Christie edition is lovely. Love all the poetry collections too. 😊💙

Thank you for watching. 😊 After reading eight of the stories in the collection, I thought The Interior Castle was the best story. It really reminds me of an episode of The Twilight Zone! Yes, I love the Agatha Christie and poetry collections too. 😊

I am so enjoying going back and watching your older videos. You have such a lovely, soothing way of speaking about books that just speaks to me. And I love how in depth you go into the books, the authors, and adjacent topics. Your channel is one of my new favorites!

Hi Celeste, I've read both of Anne Youngson's books, and I really enjoyed them. 😊

Hi Helen, I’m halfway through The Narrowboat Summer, and enjoying it!

So many great recommendations, Celeste! I am awaiting Midsummer Mysteries, which is due to arrive tomorrow, and The Narrowboat Summer looks particularly good. I love your suggestion about reading short stories in between finishing a really wonderful book and starting a new one. It’s very hard for me to make that transition, as the previous book is still fresh in my mind, so that may be the answer for me. I just now pulled out Garden Stories, edited by Diana Secker Tesdell (an Everyman’s Pocket Classics), and SUMMER An anthology for the changing seasons, edited by Melissa Harrison. Looking forward to summer reading!

Ooh, Lynn Ann, I need to get the Melissa Harrison book! Garden Stories also sounds lovely. Thanks for reaching out -- have a great week!
I have A Month in the Country on my side table. It’s up after I finish my current reads (Maps of Our Spectacular Bodies by Maddie Mortimer and The Chessmen by Peter May). I’m a bit behind…I’m still finishing up A Poem For Every Spring Day. I need to get a move on. 😄 I love your Flower Fairy books. I’ll check them out.

I’ve never heard of the two current books that you’re reading, Lori. Good? Would you recommend either? Yes, the flower fairy books are old fashioned and charming!

I have a book about Robert Lowell in my TBR pile. I'll move it up a notch or two! Your poetry recommendations always make me want to order those books!

I have that collection of Willa Cather also! The writing of a month in the country was beautiful, it made my heart sad in so many ways though. Still does, when it comes to mind. The Yearling 🥲 I love it, but it is Kleenex necessary!

That’s why I’m considering a lighter choice as well. I’m not sure I’m ready to deplete another box of Kleenex right now! 🤓
