So sorry about the struggle with your girl and sleeping. I don’t have any good advice as my kids usually slept well at night, but they NEVER napped after about 9-10 months. I made sure we had quiet time after lunch every day so I could have some alone time. I know all of us older moms say the same thing- it goes so fast so try to just rest in the stage you are in- but it really is true. I think the most important thing is to take expectations off of yourself and your child and just live in the moment and soak up the good as much as possible. And vent to family/ friends/ on here to us as much as needed. 💛

@@CandlewickLibrary I love this advice ❤️ thank you so much, friend. This is helpful! I feel like my biggest struggle is her fighting going to sleep. Once she is asleep she usually does well. I feel like I go to war every evening to get her to go down.

@@WhitneysReadingJourney I once read of a Victorian tradition of having an hour before bedtime where there was a consistent routing of saying goodnight to the house. We didn’t do it all the time, but every night we would do a Bath, lavender lotion after a bath was really relaxing to my girls, and then bedtime stories. Then putting the house to “sleep”. I don’t know if that helps kids, but I thought it was a cute idea.

Falling does sound terrifying- especially to someone like me that is afraid of flying. But sounds good too.
@WhitneysReadingJourney14 күн бұрын
@@CandlewickLibrary I have a love hate relationship with flying. Once I’m in the air I’m usually good. It’s take off and landing that usually gets to me. I don’t fly frequently so hopefully I’ll forget that book once I go to fly again hahah

I used to own that exact same edition of Miss Marple stories by Agatha Christie in middle school, but I loaned it to a teacher and then she went to Australia to teach for a semester and I moved halfway across the country, so I never got it back 😢 The book has the first and last Miss Maple stories specifically, so Murder at the Vicarage would be a good place to start with Christie's books if you're interested in that character.
