As an author, I can say that reading books in unfinished series is a huge help. Every single sale of a book is recorded and those numbers heavily influence if a publisher will continue printing that author's work. So many fantastic series have been cancelled by publishers halfway through because the books weren't selling enough copies. :)

My granddaughter just learned the bittersweet truth of reading - we have to wait a long time for sequels. She found a new author who she really enjoyed and was thrilled when she learned there is a second book. She excitedly went looking for the book, but learned it won't be out until October. 😢 She's 8 so waiting until October seems like a lifetime to her.

I feel the exact same way about Ninth House! It was everything I’m always looking for in a book. Its on my all time favorites list. I could not get enough of it! Great video and loved these layouts! FYI, I might have recommended this to you already but a really good finished fantasy series I am in the middle of reading right now is Earthsinger Chronicles by L. Penelope. The first book is called Song of Blood & Stone. Every part of the book is intriguing, especially the characters. And there are 4 books with 3 novellas sprinkled in so lots of reading time filled in while we wait for book 3 of the Alex Stern series 🤭 ✌🏽+❤

If you liked ninth house I would definitely suggest "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman it's really amazing🥰

I haven’t read any of these, but if you’re interested in more dark academia, I would recommend checking out Donna Tartt! My favorite was The Goldfinch, but the secret history is good too!

This is pretty unrelated but when I was like 10 I read a book that i loved by an Australian author❤ I think it’s called The Greatest Bookshop in the World. I am horrible at writing reviews so I won’t write one but if you are looking for a book to get for a kid I definitely recommend it😊
