What a coincidence! I also read The Lost Hero the same month :) From then to January I also finished that series, then the Trials of Apollo (so excited for the next book!!), and then Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard! I’m going to start the Red Pyramid soon. I honestly can’t believe it took me so long to continue reading Rick’s work after reading the Percy Jackson books in middle school. They’re so good!

Around the beginning of each year, I would always reread A List of Cages. Idk what it is about this book but by god I still get soooo emotional by it. It truly goes to show how a quiet book can pack a punch into your heart. It deserves more recognition from the book community and I won’t stop recommending it to people. ALSO IT NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE OMG JUST IMAGINE AN OSCAR WORTHY STORY!!!!

You should check out The Guinevere Deception! It’s a very unique retelling of King Arthur and the magic system is really neat. I’ve never read anything like it. I think you’d enjoy it!

The diviner’s is literally one of my favorite series (I’ve been reading the king of kings since it been out which is almost 3 weeks since I started reading it 😩 trust me it doesn’t usually take me that long to read one book) but I’ve been enjoying the book & taking my time reading it (which I gave up & started listening to the audiobook to finish it bc I was determined to read it physically without listening to the audiobook).

I haven't been brave enough to try any Riordan outside of the original 5 PJ books... but your comments on The Lost Hero make me think maybe it's time I branch out into his other books now! I have plans to read the Heartstopper books in the upcoming months, and hopefully will love them as much as you did. I am sorry that Supernova couldn't be the finale you wanted it to be :( That's always disappointing for the end of the series. I think I still want to try Renegades though! I have no idea what to think about Ninth House but I guess I will eventually give it a go. Looking forward to reading The Beautiful and My Dark Vanessa is high on my wishlist after your first mention of it on your channel! I have The Afterlife of Holly Chase and someday in December I will read it ^^

You should check out Giant Days if you want to check out more comics/graphic novels. It’s such a cute contemporary comic series following a group of girls who go away to uni. They all meet and it follows their friendship and lives throughout school. It’s super cute, charming, and funny!

i definitely agree with you when it comes to heroes of olympus. it does seem so much more mature. the themes, the setting... i don’t know. it feels like rick definitely aimed heroes of olympus at the kids who started pjo at twelve and aged with the characters. def a more mature, teenaged book imo 😄😄

My favorite graphic novel of all time is Monstress by Marjorie M. Liu and the artist is Sana Takeda. I highly recommend checking it out!!!!! I’ve read Winterspell thinking that I would hate it too because of the many negative reviews but alas I read it because of the beauty of the cover and I actually really enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars. I felt confused about the relationship between Clara and Anise. Like, Anise is a villain and is VERY terrible but then there are those intimate moments between them that confused me and in my opinion, it was unnecessary because I did not feel anything between them except hatred. I am a Clara x Nikolas shipper because I feel that they have more history into their relationship.
