Hunger Games got me into reading too!!!
@SirEriol4 жыл бұрын
Well, those are very basic reads indeed, but you should not phrase it like that. Some people consider Jules Verne to be basic, a fundamental part of a reader's growth. The "very basic" aspect is nothing but a nuisance between the true proclamation: _I am a reader._ It's okay for us to enjoy whatever storg we want to, as long as we recognize all aspects of it. "The Hunger Games may be a tad teenager-y, but do deliver on some important themes that other novels failed to pick up on their plot". "America commits stupid desitions and is _endlessly_ annoying, but the romance does make me swoon, the plot is fun albeit a mess, and America is always filled with the resolution to be happy, even when she can't make up her mind". "I didn't like Lord of the Flies because when I read it I wasn't in the need to be reminded of everything that society can do wrong". "I want to read Pride and Prejudice because I loved the movie, and I can't wait for it". "Ender's Game is one of my favourites. Orson Scott Card is not". There is nothing wrong with enjoying anything in this life, as long as nobody gets hurt and you recognize it for what it is. So, be proud of saying that The Hunger Games turned your gaze into the world of literature. After all, those three little books have done something colossal, the greatest gift of all: you are now aware of all these stories waiting for you, and you have all the time in the world to pick them when you please and just live in their pages for as long as you want.

I really think that "Outlander" by Diana Gabledon, (don't quote me on the spelling) would be one historical fiction you would like. Initially, it set post WW2 in Scotland as a second honeymoon for a British Army nurse and her husband the spy handler type person. But when they get there the town is celebrating a Halloween type thing and the wiccans or witches perform a ceremony in a stone circle, like Stonehenge. The nurse and her husband see it, but the nurse goes back the next day, touches one of the stones and is sent back to 1750s Scotland, before Culloden. Now if this intrigues you, there are eight books. At least two or three short side stories. Of the main eight books, there are more coming. Book one: 627 pages Book two: 743 Book three: 870 Book four: 880 Book five: 979 Book six: 814 Book seven: 980 Book eight: 815 And I want to say again, there is still more "Outlander" coming.

Because of that, I kept an eye on other adult releases and that's the reason I read Evelyn Hugo!
