I can't relate. I much prefer reading a book the second (or more) time through because I don't have to worry about the characters or anything. If it doesn't make me happy I just don't reread it. I have a few books and book series that I reread yearly.

Red Rising without a doubt. It is THE greatest most tragic space roman hunger games of thrones space opera. Some of the best characters I have ever read, or rather, listened to, as the audiobook narration is phenomenal. On Mars, there's not much gravity. So you have to pull the feet to break the neck. They let the loved ones do it.

​@@CaileysBooks A little advice. When you get to "that part" in book 3, don't stop. So many pixies stop when "it" happens, and never finish. Momentum is everything, and the payoff is too good to just stop right there. The end of the book is right around the corner. And if you finish book 3, you might just survive book 5. Its name is "Dark Age", and it is well earned. Enjoy Golden Son, Howler. Its the fan favourite.

For some reason I keep starting and stopping when it comes to the Way of Kings. Is there a certain point where you thought you couldn’t put the book down? Btw, one of my favorite trilogy is the Silo trilogy (starting with Wool) by Hugh Howey you should check it out!

I couldn’t tell you an exact point in Way of Kings BUT, I do remember being confused and not fully invested in the beginning and then at some point realizing that it was actually one of my favorite books hahaha.
