I have the same gripe about The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I've avoided A Court of Thorn and Roses so far only because I wasn't sure I was ready to dive into that world and there's been so much hype around it, I didn't want to be disappointed. I'm encouraged that you like it. Thanks for sharing!

I picked up We Solve Murders because, like you, I can’t resist getting hooked on great characters. I just wish you had some affiliate links-I’d be happy to to support you while indulging my reading habit!

Man...we have a lot of things in common!! You and I! : Fountain pens, vintage stuff, violin, books. I wish I have a friend like you near by me.

I don't really understand people who hate ACOTAR. I feel like they hate it purely because it's incredibly popular and therefore seen as "basic". I read everything from murder mysteries to memoirs to classical literature and I think ACOTAR is incredibly entertaining. Is the writing mind blowing? No but it's not trash either. I side eye those who would have such a rigid worldview of what constitutes as "good" - do people not realize that there's room for all of these different genres and authors to be seen as good? I don't think it's fair to even directly compare genres, they're too different! Anywho just wanted to go on a mini rant 😂

You're the reason why I started reading The Thursday Murder Club series, and I love it! We Solve Murders is definitely also on my "Must Read at Some Point" list. :)

Thank you for heads-up on We solve murders, because we Loved The Thursday Murder Club and hoped for more of the same. Check out Alexander McCall Smith, if you haven't already.

Thanks for letting us know what you thought about ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses). Makes me want to pick it up now.

You are right about the Sarah Maas book! My Stepson didn’t like it but many young females seem to love the series.

Osman is SO great!!! He’s my absolute favorite “new” author (I read mostly classics). Also, a super fun book I recently read is Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto!!! Highly recommend for a little fun! Plus, if you like tea…you’ll want to have some while you read!!

The "courts" are a fun read, I was the same way with ehhh idk if I wanna read these, borrowed the first book from the library finished it so fast and bought the rest 😂😅 fourth wing is another really great fantasy series (husband and i are both excited for thr third book that comes out in jan.). Atm I'm reading the zodiac academy series first book was the same as "court of thorn and roses" "push through it", second book, I blew through it and the third I'm on currently and I'm obsessed 😂😅 The Maas books, I had the same thing happen to be "waking up just thinking about it" I really hope soon we get more books for that series, because boy the last book 🤯

How did your violin recital go?
@SkySpiral810 күн бұрын
You commented that you wish you could read all three books simultaneously. So do you only read one book at a time? I don’t have that focus! BTW, it’s cheering to see your backdrop of cacti (so exotic to me) while I’m hunkered down in my house after hacking away at my ice-shellacked front walk here in NY.😅
@marksaleski989017 сағат бұрын
Maine here...yeah, cactus! I usually keep one novel and one non-fiction book going at the same time.

lol. Good luck with ACOTAR. I'm in the hate zone lol. Worst crap I've ever read. And everyone kept telling me keep going. So I struggled thru to the end of the second and hated it even more. lol. I couldn't care less about any of the characters and the story bored me to death 😂😂😂. It's definitely fascinating how deeply folks feel about her writing. lol.

I'm curious to discover if Richard Osman is known for his TV production and presenting over in the US, or if he is only famous as a novelist?
@deborahr291310 күн бұрын
I’d say mainly as a novelist. I hadn’t heard of him, or at least hadn’t heard more than his name, until his books came out in the US.

I saw a young lady wearing the same Flounder sweater as Alicia’s in slightly different colors. I wanted to ask her if she watches Adventure Denali but she was shopping and I didn’t want to bother her. I still like that sweater though.

@@scotthill6807 haha that’s so awesome! I wonder who it was! That’s a very special sighting, as it’s a pattern that requires someone knitting it! :D

It still amazes me that people can knit such an elaborate pattern.
