I’d love an animated adaptation in the style of Arcane. BUT a proper live action one would be sick, sadly Hollywood isn’t in a good place for getting adaptations done
@coolbrotherf127Ай бұрын
@@TheBabyCaleb I think a reputable anime studio would probably do it better justice than any US company for sure. Although, it really comes down to who has creative control of the project and sees that it gets done correctly.

Dude, when he mentioned this channel a few days ago I nerded tf out. I'm a long time follower of yours and a relatively new fan of Sanderson. I never thought the twain would meet, but here we are. I'm around 70% through Wind and Truth and my jaw is consistently dropped. Branderson is an astonishing writer and it's great that he seems to be mainstream now.
@WasatchWindАй бұрын
I feel like Brandon is so rightly protective of his work, and the fandom desire for an adaptation so powerful, that eventually it will reach a fever pitch and a Mistborn movie or Stormlight show will suddenly manifest into existence.

Hope you had a great time at DragonSteel! Bummed I wasn’t able to sneak away from work to go since it’s literally a block away from where I work. But I did get to see some “Shardbearers” walking the streets on my drive home, so that was still fun 😂 Great job on the interview again! Loved watching it!

This is why I read the Silmarillion twice a year. I just finished for probably the 10th time and with out question every new read is my favorite bc I can very quickly visualize the map locations and names so it reads very smoothly. I’m definitely stuck in a Tolkien loop bc I haven’t found anyone that has that same nuance taste as Tolkien. Idk if everyone wants to shy away from it to be unique or bc obviously the authors have their own flavor but if there’s any recommendations I’d be happy to take them. I like the “low fantasy” gritty aspect to Tolkien that mixes with a fairytale deeper magic feel. Just my input to this. Sanderson the man!

This was great! Finally an interview with Brandon. I was getting kind of bored listening to George talk. I too read "The Hobbit" early, 3rd grade for me (I was an advanced reader). But for me this was in 1978 the year after NBC aired the Rankin/Bass animated film. For me this one two punch was life changing. Adding to this November 29th 1978 (1 year and two days after seeing "The Hobbit" on TV) my mother got me the D&D Basic Rules boxed set. Professionally Brandon painting himself as a kind of "anti-Tolkien" helps me. George did not deserve the title of "America's Tolkien". (Would a parent let a 3rd/4th grader read "A Dance With Dragons?) I look forward to seeing Brandon and George out and about. My very Tolkienesque novels are coming in 2025 and beyond... The Real American Tolkien is coming... And it will be glorious...

Nice to see Brandon on your channel. He's great! Excellent work he has and did a great job finishing out the WoT series. That clip of Dan giving RoP such a high rating was so funny at the time, and even funnier now. I like that Brandon says Sam is his favorite. I think it's objectively true that Sam is the best person in the series, but there are many paragons of virtue in it. Maybe it would be a troll to say it, but Gollum might be my favorite. It's hard to pick one though, I think before the movies were made it must have been Faramir because of his staunch morality and wisdom, and why I was so betrayed by his portrayal in the film adaptation.

At 8:20, did he just hint that Guy Gavriel Kay might had done some of the writing for Silmarillion? Like, actually coming up with some material on the book? Or what did Brandon Sanderson do for the Wheel of Time?
@prokek9776Ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure GGK worked together with Christopher (the son) on building the Silmarillion from the mass of unorganized manuscripts. As far as I know he didn't write anything himself Edit: but since he's (as brandon also said) very secretive about it, it could be possible that he wrote some things in there
@Panamaniac3DАй бұрын
To give context on what Brandon did for the Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan (the original author) passed away right before writing the last book. Brandon took his notes (which were actually only a few paragraphs) and finished the series out.
