Really enjoyable video. I'm really interested in the early feminist books. I start December by listening to the audiobook version of A Christmas Carol every year. Usually the version narrated by Tom Baker (the Fourth Doctor Who). It sort of sets the start of Christmas for me.

I love 'Heart of Darkness' I think it's remarkable for its time (the cynical view of colonialism), I'd like to read more of Conrad, I like his tone. I've bought 'The Story of Lilly Dawson' by Mrs Crowe, I've not got to it yet.

Comparing Conrad and Kipling is always a great thing to be doing, imv. They both had interesting things to say about the colonialism of the times.
