The best way to maximize space without sacrificing too much aesthetic, is to have more stacks like your ACOTAR series! Stacked on top of each other rather than side by side. Great video Emmy!

I also have the IKEA billy bookshelves, and mine aren't screwed into the wall bc we had just painted when I got them and I didn't want to make any holes lol. And mine are yet to fall or even wobble in the slightest or anything like that, so when you get to a point where you have too many stacks on the floor I'd say it's worth thinking about getting another shelf even if you cant screw it into the wall! Also, when new books come out for authors on your romance shelf, I'd say maybe put Ali Hazelwood's books in a stack so that you have more room across. Your shelves are absolutely stunning! 🫶

i wish i could do this but the flooring in this room is so uneven I unforuntaltey have to have the shelves bolted together otherwise they tip 😭 project: buy a house for my dream library is still the goal but for now i will have to make do 👀 definitely going to take your idea for stacking books like that, such a good idea thank you!!

@ it was fantastic and personally better then the second book for me. I know such an unpopular opinion but I thought the first half of the second book was boring. And you’ve read so many amazing series that I want to get to. I just finished the Daughter of the Pirate King and Belladonna so I’m trying to catch up lol. Still dying to read Shatter Me, This Woven Kingdom, From Blood and Ash, Book of Azreal, and An Ember in the Flames.

Also since u liked the ‘defy the night’ trilogy (which I thought started strong but progressively went downhill) I recommend you try by the same author ‘a curse so dark and lonely’ trilogy which is a beauty and the beast retelling! I also recommend you read the Romantasy Radiance and Eidolon duology by Grace Draven!

The recommended order to read them is: from blood and ash, a kingdom of flesh and fire, a crown of gilded bones, a shadow in the ember, a war of two queens, a light in the flame, a soul of ash and blood, a fire in the flesh, born of blood and ash. Note: There is also a character guided book that also has short stories from a beloved character in the blood and ash series and that is called visions of flesh and blood. The flesh and fire series is complete now with the last book being born of blood and ash. But the next book in the blood and ash series is coming out summer of 2025. I would look at Good Reads for the exact date.
