A Discovery of Witches is SO GOOD!! I still need to continue the series, but the first book is one of my all-time favorites, so I hope you love it whenever you get to read it. Also, loveeee assistant and apprentice to the villain! I wouldn't go into it expecting high-stakes fantasy, because it's definitely more of a slow-burn, flirty, low-stakes fantasy & kind of a silly, goofy time, but I ate up every single second of it!!

I love your thinking when shopping for books. I do the same thing in my head and probably look crazy pacing the fantasy section and picking up and putting down everything saying to myself “nah… that’s a kindle unlimited book”. The Poppy War special edition is pretty! I want to read that as well.

if you're up for a YA sci fi then the lunar chronicles (first book is Cinder) is really good! i spotted them on the shelf when you were in waterstones 🥰 they're all based on fairy tales too so the first is obviously cinderella, the world and the plot get a lot bigger as the series goes on which i always love too

The poppy war trilogy was my 5 star series of this year . Love it to the Core just cuz it’s so different compared to any other fantasy books I’ve ever read .
