3:13 and 3:52 I missed what happened there, because it was going so fast, and, even though I can see, I can't see as well as most people.
@artisaninstruments2 жыл бұрын
Hey there Beeman Thanks for your comments and checking us out! So what is happening at 3:13 is That I am playing Kashakas in each hand and showing a technique that is basically and exercise of turning the wrists and rotating both Kashakas inside and outside the hands in the same direction at the same time. Then at 3:52 I am showing the same technique except the Kashaka are being playing in opposite directions. Thanks for connecting with us here at Artisan Instruments, stay tune and we will be releasing some new videos soon. We have moved to our new oasis and are getting everything ready for this next big stage of our life’s. Thanks Beeman and also there is a function in KZbin we’re you can slow the videos down, perhaps this could be used as a advantage for you my friend! Take care until next time Rap with you soon

I am sorry, but this is exactly how we shouldn’t play. Twisting of the hand is a wrong technique. Please check out some others who can actually play and see how they do it. I’m disappointed to see that people put stuff up TO TEACH, but have no idea themselves. I’ve been to enough workshops to say this, and carry on with my search elsewhere, how to play the cascas.
@artisaninstruments2 жыл бұрын
Hey there Julianna, you are absolutely right about the twisting technique. I have put that exercise in this video for beginners to use to help get the feeling of passing the Kashakas on both sides of the hand. I appreciate your feedback, thank you. I am sorry to have disappointed you and will be working hard on some future videos that will explain more on how to learn to play the Cas Cas. Perhaps you have some suggestions or references videos that have helped you to learn to play? Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

I found this extremely helpful in getting the feel for it. I felt completely miserable and intimidated by my first attempts. There are no “wrong” ways to play an instrument if you’re having fun.

Use the correct name, it called Asalato, from Ghana. I don't know why when you copy things from Africa you don't give credit.
@artisaninstruments Жыл бұрын
Yes sir you are 100% right this instrument is called Asalato and originally comes from the oncoba spinosa tree which thrives in many parts of Africa including the beautiful Ghana 🇬🇭 Thanks for the info and I do apologize for not giving credit where it is deserved. Thanks 🙏
