Hey groovy people! I've got a new video for yah! I've been meaning to pick up an Aslatua for about nine years, and I never really felt it was the right time. A month ago, as I was wandering Kyoto, I came across an opportunity that I felt was too good to pass up. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and if you're trying to learn the Kashakas, then let me know if this was helpful.

Awesome dude! I love to hear that other people are playing asalato too - there aren't many of us about! I'm about a year and half into my journey, and you're totally right there are almost infinite rhythms! Keep playing and having fun. Greetings from Austria!

It’s called nkush kash it’s west african in origin from Ghana I’m sure it’s be used to make “Israeli Latin Mediterranean music” tho Shame

can you tell me the length of string between kashakas? i bought a pair that i feel might be too short

I think I remember having the string be about the length of my palm. You could try replacing the string to be longer. I was constantly changing the size of the string to get it right. Or letting other people use it.

I wish I could. I bought it from him in person. Sorry. But they are African percussion instruments, and if you search for them online, I'm sure you could find them. Good luck!
