Exactly, Boo. I also think attachments on an AK47 is just wrong. I would only choose attachments that are invisible to the gun's natural appearance.

@Darthoblivion24 its not in the area were you choose a perk for specialist, and if you look through PC files. it does not grant you overkill. swell as damage, impact, breath and attachments.

@Iknutherift the suppressor combos great with ak47 in black ops, but it does knock off its range, which can hurt you on those longer maps, so I used it frequently both ways. But one thing you have to agree on is that putting RDS or holographic is just so goofy on the ak47 which Boo was really getting at

Apparently, the specialist bonus is supposed to give you all of the Proficiencies (as well as perks, obviously) not including Damage (for shotguns) or 2 Attachments. A friend and I tested this and it definitely gave his Striker more range after he got the specialist bonus.

@Xanoptic0n I understood what he said. That's why I'm curious. I didn't mean literally switching to your second custom class, I mean something hypothetical, like, using Overkill and having the Dragunov with Stability and the KSG with Damage. Would the Dragunov now somehow become a one shot kill weapon? If it doesn't apply to your own weapons then, how about just the Dragunov, THEN switching your secondary pistol for the Damage shotgun? Would it have the same theoretical effect?

My theory is that if you get enough kills to run out of ammo, you're probably doing really well so you're gonna be able to keep doing well.

I think your theory is right, because when you select proficiencies, you select them the same way as you would a normal attachment. As in there is no separate section for the proficiencies, like for equipment or tacticals, just when you select your gun.

@nysiko3 yup. You also don't get the shotgun proficiency, Damage. But you definitely move faster when you get specialist bonus with any non-sniper gun.

I think you are right. I think that if you are holding a gun, you get its proficiency even if you dont have it equipped. I know for a fact that if you use overkill and a proficiency on a primary, then the same proficiency is carried over to the secondary. if you use a shotgun with damage as a primary and any other weapon as a secondary, the secondary also has the damage increase that the damage proficiency provides, even if the secondary wouldn't usually be able to have the profiency on.

It doesn't look like the proficiencies attached to the gun idea doesn't work. I just checked (In a private match so it might be different online) and when I had breath equipped on my ACR and then I died, switched to a SCAR with kick. When I picked up the ACR I couldn't hold my breath and the same with the SCAR. It also appeared that the ACR didn't have the kick proficiency on, as when I tried shooting it it had quite a bit of recoil.

Black Magic yes. Honestly? Weapon proficiencies are attached to your weapon, theyre like an added perk or attachment to that gun. When you pick up another gun, the proficiency from the new weapon stacks, in theory, onto your other guns, because as well as being identical to the weapon, they paste themselves on the player, as you were talking about the magnum, because they add to your secondary.

im pretty sure u do get their proficiency ever be on top of a gun u have w/ same attachments but instead of giving u ammo it gives u the option of picking it up

Alli A was saying in one of his videos that when you get all perks on specialist you also get all proficiencies.. so.. if is the case that you get the proficiency with the gun "which i think it must be true, otherwise you wouldn't get guns with 2 attachments from the floor, right?.. the 2 attachments is a proficiency".. anyway.. it wouldn't make a difference after getting the specialist bonus

You dont feel it, you DO have it, you get them once you hit those 8 kills. Specialist bonus is: all 15 perks + all Weapon Proficiencies except for Impact, Breath, Damage

@iamstuckinthedark Here's a tip, idk if it will help. Try puttin scavenger pro as your main blue perk and SoH pro as your first kill streak with hardline as your first red perk to get it with one kill. You dont have to reload before your first kill right?

In the example you gave, I'm assuming you're not using specialist? The specialist bonus gives you all proficiencies as well.

@LightningTurd1 I agree, on BO being best. Problems with that were Ghost (Dont run Spy Plane) and 2nd chance (Look before you turn your back on them) Solved. But a sequel is meant to improve on the previous one, be superior to it. Not just a copy and paste job.

So,Boo what you saying is if I pick up a shotgun with damage and I have a for example an MP7 with focus would that MP7 gain the Damage proficiency or would it have to be compatable with the other gun?

i feel the same exact way when i pick up an enemy's gun, except mw3 is no exception. i feel this way in every cod game i play, for no particular reason, i just do better. maybe because it's like a breath of fresh air from the gun i'm currently using and somehow enhances my gameplay, but i just do so much better

Specialist awards all proficiencies except for damage and attachments, and all perks, lol, to get the other proficiencies you have to have them equipped precious to playing
