when mw3 first came out, I tried the first few shotguns and the 1887 before the Striker, and I assumed I would never in my right mind go back to those shotguns because of the hitmarkers. Now, after listening to your reasoning and other shotgun gameplay, I feel compelled to grind out Damage/Extended Mags. Variety for the win. Thank you Boo!

you're right about the ksg-12 feeling the most rewarding. the other day i was playing kill confirmed on mission and ended up getting my best game ever, 38-13. the very next game i went 34-10 with the SPAS. the KSG felt so much better for some reason.

The KSG12 is totally my favorite shotgun, there is just something sexy about laying someone out who uses an automatic weapon with a single well placed pump action blast. (Also the Hex camo deserves some love.)

@booman61 If the KSG has a tighter spread, would it not be advantageous to ADS for higher precision for those longer shots? I don't really use shotguns so I don't really know myself, whenever I watch your vids I'll go "Yeah! I'll use a shotgun!"...and then get mentally tortured for half an hour.

@kingnings damage, Boo outlined some problems with TmarTns test in one of his other commentaries which he needs to remake, the jist of it was: in the test the shots were carefully placed so all/nearly all the pellets hit making range more effective, you try that in a game and you'll die before you pull the trigger every time. In a game you'll hit with maybe half the pellets each shot (unless your name is Sandy Ravage) so damage is better to make up for the pellets that miss.

I can never seem to do well enough with shotguns to unlock the attachments/perks you need to make the gun useful. It's not always the guns fault either, it's the damn spawns. Any tips on how to get close but not mobbed?

@SaraPlaysRS For some videos I speak a little more dramatically and emphasise particular words, because I think it makes it sound more interesting. I guess it's a type of entertainment value, and I hope viewers see it the same way and that it works well =) For the Shotguns, I would say the Striker is undoubtedly the best Shotgun in the game, even without Attachments/Proficiencies. It is an outstanding weapon!

@SpongeBobbyBoy It's not a double barrel. It is a single barrel with two tubes for the shells. The 2 tubes feed the shells into one barrel to actually fire.

KSG is a 6 pellet gun, while the Spas is an 8 pellet, so you are correct in that case. 9 and 12 with Extended mags, respectively.

In my opinion, the KSG 12 is the best shotgun introduced, Grip and Range, and Steady Aim Pro make you a god with it. In one game I got 3 One shot, Two kills.

I listened to boo's advice. My favorite gun now is the KSG-12. Currently I have it Autumn camo'd and 1/3 of the way to gold camo. If you want to try it I suggest using it (after you've leveled it up) with the extended mags attachment and the range proficiency.

I have to be honest, the first time I heard of the KSG-12 was back in January with the SHOT Show 2011. It actually has a very innovative design that is suppose to set itself apart from other pump actions like the Spas-12 and Benelli. So,I was excited to learn that it was in MW3. I thought it would be the new Spas-12 from MW2. But, I am severely disappointed. Its not as bad as the PM-9, but still bad. Infinity Ward definitely did not give the KSG justice, or any of the shotguns for that matter.

What do you guys think is the best sensitivity to use on shotguns? You want to be able to turn quick with them which requires a high sensitivity but on the other hand you want to get your crosshairs to nicely target them too which is easier with a lower sensitivity again...

@DmitriRussian Mine has overheated 2 times and has never gotten the "final" red ring. It may red ring quite often, but that can usually be solved by shutting it off and turning it back on after a while.

Got a gold KSG, finishing up the USAS now, got damage and extended mags (6 to 8 isn't even a real attachment if you ask me), and then it'll be the SPAS. Saving the model for last.
