Hey Donut, Model T guy, here. $6,000 for a 1927 Roadster sounds about right. People don't buy Model T's for their engine, they buy it for the experience of owning a simple machine. I also found listing the engine specs amusing, because to Model T people, all that matters is if it has an original Model T engine in it. Max: * lists the cubic inch displacement of the Model T * Me: * *laughs in tolerances that made the displacement range from 2.7 liters to 3 liters* *

uh old cars before they're classics no but something like a frame off restored 1974 Chevelle SS 454 yeah as the Chevelle was discontinued in 1977 base MSRP for the SS in 1974 was 4,500 which is equivalent to $29,000 dollars in 2025 money around the same as a new Toyota Camry LE Gas model mind you an American midsize car like the Chevelle had a 20 gallon fuel tank in those days and gas was cheap and plentiful 34 cents a gallon for regular and 36 cents a gallon for premium so it cost around $7.00 to fill the tank where as it would cost nearly 80 bucks to fill that same tank now and around 4,100 for the year where as to fill a Hybrid only 2025 Toyota Camry it costs about 2,100 per year as that has a fuel capacity nearly 7 gallons smaller and weighs between 200 and 350 LBs less than the Chevelle

Yeah. Now it's the '80s and '90s cars that are spiking in value as the Gen Xers and milennials start snapping them up. I had a third-generation Camaro I bought in 2018. Low miles, great inerior, paint was shot but it ran great and I paid $6500. An equivalent car today sells for twice that. In a few years IROCs will be regularly selling for over $20K, and clean low-mileage cars will be over $30K. When I was in college you could get a reasonably nice one for $1500 and a case of Bud Light. I'm glad I got the chance to own my dream car before they got super-expensive.

For those of you younger cats playing at home, this is what is known as the Model T syndrome. As an early 80s baby, I remember when model T's were insanely expensive, even after coming down from the 70s all time high. A stock model T can be had for 3 pistachio shells and pocket lint. Why? The people that were paying big money for them, and the ones relevant, aren't alive anymore. Terry, Phil, and Steve are all dying off, and Stetson, Neveah and Paxton don't care for clutches, carburetors and bias plies. I'm not saying there are no muscle car fans anymore, I'm saying there's not enough to necessitate driving the value up.

As I’m approaching half a century here on this planet, I am realizing I could very well be keeping my low mileage S197 Mustang for the next 30 years (assuming I’m around). It’s 19 years old, but feels more like a relic of the past every year. It’s going to go to classic status, then winga-dinga. 😂 And when I bought it, I figured I’d enjoy it a few years and get something else. Back in the mid 80’s, in the foxbody days, I’d pine over vintage 60’s Mustangs. 20 year old cars back then. And now that my car is near 20 years old, I can’t believe the difference 20 years makes now compared to then. But just being alive and in to cars in the 80’s makes me OLD these days! 😅. “Tell us about the dinosaurs, grandpa!”

Funny, I was browsing a few European sites, including a German one, and I was surprised at how cheap old cars are over there. I saw a few very nice MG TFs for $2,500 nearby in Netherlands. A Mazda Miata in similar shape here would be at least triple that if not more. Same goes for old FIATs, Skodas, Volkswagens, and Opels. They're like less than half a similar old Ford, Chevrolet, or Dodge here, at least in my area.

Obviously doesn't explain all of it, but yeah that's definitely going to be a factor. Also, when did Nolan get good at guessing prices?

The Hornet sold for 9K because it's a four door post car, if it were a two door in those conditions I can see it go for 20/25K easy. Remember that these cars cater to the kustom car crowd the most, and we like hard tops, 2/4 doors, or in this case two doors, as older cars all had posts/B pillars, in both two or four doors form. Post cars can definitely be cool though, don't get me wrong, I've had a couple myself, but they'll always be cheaper and I hope it stays that way, as some of my favorite cars are four doors, 30s four door sedans are imo some of the most beutiful, and so are 60s/70s four door hard tops. The Barracuda is not "made to look like something", it's a 440 with a 4 speed on a racing chassis, what the fk are you talking about? The ignorance is strong here.. kids these days 😤

If that ever effects the Dodge Charger... who am I kidding? So long as F&F's running, there ain't gonna be any decent Chargers out there. Last two ones I found were not even 440s and even less 426s and still cost over 120.000 Euros. But I do have to say, my near perfect 1976 Oldsmobile 98 only cost 12.000 Euros, and that's a lotta car and a lotta comfort, and that's in Europe, too.

These classic muscle cars are insanely expensive, it never should have been that way. A 1967 gt 500 may look awesome, but it shouldn't be going for over 150k, especially when newer, more powerful, better performing Shelby mustangs are 50-80 grand all day long. Heritage matters, but not to the degree we've seen in classic cars over the last 10 years or so.

Sadly i haven't seen the prices drop much yet where im at. Especially not the late 60s early 70s muscle cars. Other stuff maybe a little, but well known classics even non car people know about still seem to be very pricey.

Hey can we get a T-shirt with Nolan's face, a gasser doing a fat burnout and text saying Hell ya. Do it in that funky cartoon style where they overexagerate features

You could turn off the auto focus on the stationary, non moving cameras. Objects arent moving too.
