I recommend trying insect glaive too, that’s my main... once you get the flow of using your kinsect to power up it’s super smooth. Setting up a ton of dust clouds around a monster and helicoptering your way through them (causing them all to go off at once) is unbelievably satisfying.

ugh I just love the insect glaive and use it all the time. I think it would be better to learn from experience because it has so much to it but if you still want to read my thoughts on it, I just really feel like talking about it ;u; the thing I love about this weapon the most is it makes me have to think fast because it gives me a lot to think about. Like... a LOT. Like if you've checked the video and saw that 5* complexity rating it's not lying. That's usually only best for you once you've gotten used to the game, weapon, and monsters. but I find once you reach that point of familiarity this weapon becomes really satisfying once you've gotten things down, especially when you discover new aspects to it that you never knew/realized before. I've found that happened to me a _lot_ when picking up this weapon. With the insect glaive, you have to manage getting attack output, focusing on keeping your buffs up, managing you kinsect's stamina (which actually becomes way easier with the spirit kinsect that some slinger ammo gives it, thank you iceborne) and making sure it stays marked on the monster so it can keep dropping clouds all over the place. You also want to use the vaulting for mobility (with the white buff it gives really nice mobility without having to put the weapon away) or gaining height with out-of-reach flying monsters or raised parts that you might want to break OR vaulting to dodge attacks once you recognize monster patterns enough to realize you are about to get crushed to death OR vaulting to build mounting damage onto the monster. As everybody else always says to those who ask about the glaive, don't just jump around all the time, because the glaive builds up the best damage on the ground! Another thing I discovered is don't be afraid to spam your bug attack at the monster when it's way out of reach/fleeing and you need time to catch up with it. Just gets some minor damage accumulating on it, but I've also discovered sometimes I can accidentally flinch the monster (and on rarer occasions, break one of its parts with the bug). Definitely be sure to keep upgrading your kinsect so it can become more effective. Main point is, don't neglect to think about your little buggy!! You definitely will need to get used to the weapon, but once you do, focusing on all of that during battle is much easier than it sounds :b I'm quite aware that I've possibly scared off a bunch of people with those paragraphs because not everybody wants to manage so much at once and those who watch this video are potentially very new to this game. But I'm at least hoping to reach out to the others who are like me who enjoy being given a lot to think about in games like this! I feel like that's one aspect of this weapon I rarely see explained to people. All I ever see is "je suis monte." :b

freohr789 yeah, Insect Glaive and Switch Axe are like tied for my secondary weapon. I’m a charge blade main, but i love weapons that enable you to have vast depth in the multitude of styles you’re able to utilize with just one weapon.
@drewfoster61384 жыл бұрын
The idea of the glaive producing the best dps on the ground is outdated tbh. If you build the weapon correctly it hits big numbers from the air aswel as the ground, giving allround play. I usually hit 3(160-230) for using the R2 slam out of the air on a monsters tenderised head, plus I use blast, stun insect to either increase a free 300 blast damage number or create stun build up, works amazingly (3 circle ground attack will probably do about 350 damage total and airbound circle will do in the region of 200-350 attack depending on how many hits connect... However it leads to the slam whereas the triple circle ground attack is a finisher, so airborne for continuously higher dps ☺️ hope this helps
@SepticFuddy2 ай бұрын
Way late but I found that as a complete noob abusing aerial let me ease into reading the monsters by giving me more escape options. As I got towards HR I started paying more attention to extracts, actually using the canteen, QOL armor skills and better crafted items. As I got into MR I was able to transition to more ground/DPS-focused play, slinger buffs, clutch claw, equipment, and monster-oriented decos. I don't think there's anything wrong with jumping straight into IG because you really don't need to get into its complexity before you're ready to take that next step. Plenty of time to get familiar with the basics first.

Out of all the weapons the ham can be played differently depending on the terrain. It's either sliding, jumping or being grounded. What most people don't realize is the ham is very handy against flying monsters. Just stay by the edge of a cliff/platform and spam the jump att when monster is near there. You will hit the monster fairy easily and can even knock it out and have it crashing down. Also with evade decos you can play with the ham being power charged more frequently which nets you an additional 100att (just about). Ham is king if you are able to slide and do the sliding att move. Why? Not only can you mount monsters this way but you can KO them and it's easier to dodge their moves. And the ham also has two moves that will always connect and not bounce off the big bang and spinning 360 move basically act as minds eye 👁🗨 skill.

Firstly, I had no idea MH was a fighting game, a genre that I loathe, only open-world, so I don't see myself ever being able to remember combos let alone mid-fight. This whole combo and combo-to-cancelling business is way above my paygrade. I don't know who these humanoid supercomputers are that can store and recall this kind of information on the fly, but you all have my respect and envy.

One time we teamed up with another two person team and after hunting for awhile one of them said “you two work REALLY well together, it’s like you know what the other person is going to do next before they do.” They were amazed at how little we had to speak to each other to coordinate our attacks. Playing with him has given me so much respect for hunting horners, because their support capabilities are so amazingly helpful, and when someone is really good with it there’s nothing they can’t do. He and i are really close friends in real life, so i think that contributes to our cooperative gameplay.

Hammer is badass as is with the clutch claw. GS I agree but I guess they wanted to keep is simple as always. The hard part of the GS has always been knowing the monsters and timing your attacks, not long or complex combos.

It actually can do fairly high damage with the right setup. Slicing ammo alone is very powerful, but the easiest to use is one of the guns with the multi-shot perks. Buff up right, and they can do some serious damage.

Ok so I know most people won't realize this but I wanna thank you for showing all of these weapons used on the same monster to avoid spoiling anything because the game is awesome! And I don't wanna see any new monsters until I see them myself in game and soooo many other channels show all of that and ruin surprises, also I love all the info in the video! 🔥❤️ Insect glaive is looking pretty fire

I wish I could get used to the charge blade. I'm just garbage at it. I've been SNS/GS since PS2 and it makes newer weapons hard to get the hang of.
@syahrifh37775 жыл бұрын
really? for me sns > charge blade difficulty, charge blade was simple once you know the theory and get used a little bit. all you need to play charge blade is patience and careful with the Powerful Combo Animations. but it just my personal opinion after all

Greatsword it's even harder to me as a Charge Blade main. It's literally, too complicated because the only thing that i can do with that weapon is miss the charge attacks.

@@andrewthielmann5342 No no, really. Charge Blade it's complicated because you need to do like... five things to do your maximum damage. Not for timing, like GS. GS needs to charge your attack. Wait an opening and hit your attack. I can't do that, idk why hahaha
@agodkiller69394 жыл бұрын
Type in charge blade combos, another youtuber breaks it down so simple the best moves. It's so worth learning. If you deflect when charged just do a whirling slash right trigger and b button at the same time. Keeps from deflecting and is one of the quickest dps charge blade moves.

This video hurt me more than helped because you made every weapon look damn good lmao.. I have been maining Hammer but I am super struggling with some monster like Brachy and Tigrex.. They are just so hard to fight with a slow short range weapon
@eeveeongirl4 жыл бұрын
Hi, hunting horn main here. Tigrex and brachy can be difficult for us slower weapons, but here are some tips that I learned from playing the older games. Tigrex gets tired quickly, focus dodging his charges until he tires himself out then rack up stun and exhaust damage to keep him from charging longer; also be on the look out for his spin when he winds up dodge away from him. Brachy can be a bit more difficult, once again getting exhaust damage is crucial and its best to do this when there is no slime on his "arms" makes it a lot safer to approach him; hitting his legs can also knock him over. Worst case call in some help with an SOS flare, more people makes for a safer hunt
