We all coexist on the public land it is my favourite place to camp, if it was not for forestry, oil and gas companies as well as ranchers, we would have no access to this magical place. The oil leases are very well cared for ( even noxious weeds are controlled). My grandfather had earned his living (logger) and feed his family threw the dirty thirties off crown land. My family spends most of the camping season in the back country, my children now have the wilderness and the adventures that go along with it as life experience. We have seen Many types of animals including Black Bear, Cougar, red fox and timber wolf. We really love having the wild horses grazing next to our camp. Thank You for the videos on solar helps a lot in the back country.

Thank you once again. I took a logging road in Northern California back in the 80's. Five hours!!!The terror and the sublime!!! Nowhere to pull aside, road signs riddled with bullet holes. I prayed I wouldn't come head on with a logging truck..... But the views I had were spectacular. I never regretted it. It felt like the greatest gift. I had no idea looking at the map that it would be one lane!!!! I probably wouldn't have gone. I'm glad I did. Also did the Klamath River country. In my 78 Dodge van, with my shepherd terrier alongside.

This looks like my neck of the woods. I'm in BC though, but very much like my backyard. We travel on a logging road like this to get from our remote home to town. Even passing cows along the way. We love and appreciate the luxury that we enjoy of living in a remote location and don't even mind the hour plus drive over rough roads to get groceries! -Sue

Great attitude , Slim . A very reasoned and respectful understanding of how things work and are generally sustainable. Old growth forests produce nothing,. Harvest and renew ,cattle reduce fires by consuming grass and shrubs as well as supplying food for humans from an otherwise useless resource . Your photography skills and observation are outstanding, thank you for sharing. 😍 🇨🇦

Slim, just found your channel and I'm looking at getting an A-liner or 16ft. Scamp. Appreciate all I'm learning from you. I live a mile north of the Chequamegon National Forest just south of Lake Superior I've hunted, camped, trapped and wandered there a lot. I used to dislike the 4 wheelers and snowmobilers, until I remembered that we ALL get to use OUR National Forests. A little humbling. I prefer our Nat'l Forests to our National Parks. Take care, and thanks again.

HI Slim.. I have a 4.4 mtr. pop top caravan, which i use similarly to you and your Aliner.. I enjoy about 13l/100km which I'm OK with... ( Diesel is about $1.30 p litre here...) Most caravans here in Australia have leaf springs which allows us to 'undersling' the axle for more clearance.. (pos'n the axle UNDER the springs instead of above...!! Door vents are mandatory here to allow badgas to bleed off. Dust can be a problem, though. I've camped in 46c plus here and I guess you've camped in 46c minus !..... GO WHERE THE ROAD TAKES YOU....!!! Josh

Absolutely beautiful location. I sometimes envy those living in such beautiful country. I live in Southeast Texas where the water is muddy, the mosquitoes are horrible and you have to compete with snakes, gators and feral hogs for the true boondocking experience. But then I don’t even know a person that owns a snow shovel!
@johnhenryholiday49645 жыл бұрын
excellent video.... forests are a compromise.... west yellowstone learned what happens without allowing mother nature to renew herself.... some of the largest most debilitating forest fires occurred in west yellowstone park.... they allowed for zero logging.... and they put out all fires for any reason.... the forests became choked with old dead trees.... and it became a tinder box.... my uncle used to run sheep next to part of west yellowstone.... the damage done was zero.... and it helped to maintain the forest.... but yes.... there should be wise use of the forest.... good video... Im glad you travel here and help to expand peoples knowledge of what things we have here to see..... I have seen so many of your video's I feel like your an old friend or neighbor....
