"Boondocks" was co-written by Little Big Town. It was released in May 2005 as the first single from their second studio album The Road to Here.
From our very first performance as Foxes and Fossils, we cover this tune featuring Tim Purcell on lead vocals. We hope you enjoy it!

To call these magnificent musicians/vocalists a cover band does not do them justice. Lots of big stars never wrote their material. These F&F re-create every song in their own fashion and bring joy and amazement to all who happen upon them. Choked up on every song they record. Can't control it. Can't say that about any other artist I've ever heard before. I listen to them everyday. Do you think there's a 12 step program for F&F addiction? Love these people!

@@andrewd4890 A bit of info for cover band bashers that I've seen here on YT. Half of the songs on each of The Beatles' first three albums were cover songs. When the Beatles first went into Abbey Roads studios, they told George Martin they wanted to record their own songs. Martin told them " When you write songs as good as these cover songs you are doing, then maybe we'll talk about doing your songs." So the Beatles went off and wrote a bunch of songs that sounded exactly like the cover songs they were recording. They just mimicked their favorite artists, and bragged about years later. Didn't matter, Beatlemania had already swept the globe. In fact, each of the Beatles continued to record cover songs after the Beatles broke up.

Speechless for a month since this came out. 107,000 of the 127,000 views as of May 31 are mine. “That’s a joke, son,” as Yosemite Sam used to say (the Fossils will get the reference). Seriously, how many times have I finished a listen to this and had to wipe my face dry? Everybody pulling in the same direction! Joy to the World! So many commenters have said how F&F’s music has helped them get thru these strange times. Me too. This rendition of “Boondocks” is not only inspirational, it hits a sensitive nerve in my soul. As a teacher (from the Northeast) since about 1970, I have low tolerance for linguistic snobbery, or regional snobbery. This song repudiates that snobbery, but in a forgiving way. No malice. And F&F, God bless ‘em, end their exhausting debut set with this POWERHOUSE, shaking the plaster off the chapel ceiling. Thank you, thank you, thank you. - RH, age 68, Prague CZ

I patch audio from my computer sound card to a stereo system almost as old as the Fossils - a Marantz 3200 pre-amp, a Marantz 140 power amp, and rebuilt Epicure 201 speakers (all from the mid 70's). Tim's post mixing and engineering is just amazing, sounds almost as good as my old vinyls. Kicked back with a beverage, I'm second table back center at Bella's. Damn, life is good!

This is the last song of the night? What? The complexity of the interweaving parts? The power driving through all the instruments? The clarity and beauty of the harmonies? The no apparent lack of energy and commitment to entertaining all observers? At the end of the night. Amazing, fantastic, awesome. No superlatives suffice.

Kent…great comment! This was the “last” song except for the encore song. I hope Tim eventually uploads that song as well..it has a little boo boo, but the song is great and the gals are absolutely adorable! (Ya know, Monday Monday has a major boo boo…and over one million views!)

@@davidvogel6359 Hi, David! I’m not supposed to divulge the title of the encore song, but near the beginning, Maggie makes a minor flub, and kinda shakes her head, and then gives us that world famous Maggie smile! All good! The girls only learned about this song the night before the concert.

@@davidvogel6359 David..my bad. The boo boo on Monday Monday is the ending…or the lack of an ending! As Tim said after they “finished”, “If we had practiced this song just a little bit more”. But the singing was extraordinary, in my opinion.
