These things are currently $39.99 almost EVERYWHERE right now online. I watched your review and decided to try them out. Nice headset for the $$. Also these work on PS4 just plug while the Xbox One ironically needs an update still lol. ALSO the headset adapter dongle thingy retails for $25 alone. You need this for Astros, Turtles etc.

Thanks for the review. I picked mine up yesterday and very happy with my purchase. I was going to get the Polk or Turtle Beach, but I figure I'd go with the budget buy rather than spending more money and a better headset comes out later this year. Only "issue" I have is that my voice doesn't connect with the mic. I'm also pretty anti-social online, only talking with friends and with certain games/times, so I'm not use to speaking to be heard. I'm hoping that's it rather than the mic being too far from my mouth to catch my voice. Other than that, I'm happy with it. Later I'll get something more snazzy, but for now I can hear the foot steps and direction of the bullets coming my way. After a few months without a headset, I had to really "relearn" how to "hear with headsets." lol That being said, when going by a I.E.D. in Call of Duty Ghosts, I often didn't hear the "pings" until it was too late. The sounds of gunfire drowned out nearly everything. Again, I'm used to hearing from my TV with this game, so perhaps that's a factor. Thanks again for your review and other headsets.

As in, if i apply a little bit too much force will it break? Is it comfortable for long gaming sessions? How good is the stereo sound quality? Can you adjust the bass? How good is the bass? Thanks for subscribing. The headset isn't flimsy. though it does feel like it . its quite durable. but I suggest not seating on it. The Stereo headset quality is good. But you can't adjust the bass as everything runs through the headset adapter. Bass is decent for the price. It sounds good. Hope that helps

First of all thank you for the review, very nice information, I just have a few questions. This headset lets you here game audio from the headset correct? And if so, does it mute the audio coming from the TV as well? Also, you said that you use this to listen to music with your phone/MP3 player, which means that it works on PC too? For those that don't know, you can usually find Astro A30s with the Mixamp on Ebay for the same price or cheaper. I paid $75 for mine and they were brand new. For anyone interested in buying a new headset, I'd suggest going that route instead.

great Xbox One headset if you don't feel like spending over $150. This review was very helpful and I ended up getting this headset and I have no complaints expect for maybe the small crackle you hear in most wireless headsets when there is no sound on. Other than that it's a great buy imo.

You said it doesn't work on your phone and its probably for the same reason as why it kind of doesn't work on PC. The problem on PC is that you have to mic boost like crazy to actually pick up your voice but that causes tons of static. The fix for that is to put the settings back to normal but have the actually infront of your mouth, which this super short mic can't do. Another problem about this headset is that because the mic is off to the side it picks up ALL the background noise, anything happening in your house it'll pick it up. Like more than other headsets BECAUSE for some odd reason this as the mic open on both sides, the side facing your head picks up sound and so does the other side. I'm now trying to detach the mic and get it infront of my mouth for pc gaming and i really hope I don't permanently break it

I'll probably just get the adapter and use the Tritton Trigger headset I already have for my Xbox 360. The lead off the headset that goes into the amplifier box thing is a 3.1mm jack. Good stuff!

It’s great u can get if for like 4p bucks now and it’s so worth it. The build quality is garbage if u have smaller heads and u keep the head strap all the way in it will break the planstic there and if u drop them to many times the ear cups will break of the tiny plastic peg that’s inside. But the audio and mic quality is unbelievable for the price. I have gotten a lot of comments in games about how good my mic is.

Nice review, I just purchased them Saturday so I had one full day to test them out, all of the headsets that came out on the 7th are stereo sound not surround sound, for $80 you cant go wrong..

I am a bit late, but the only time you can hear your own voice is if you have the controller with the 3.5mm plug in and turn your mic monitoring on or if you buy an adapter that has mic monitoring feature. The microsoft xbox one adapter does not have this feature.

Kris Harness - it is most likely nothing to do with the headset, but with Party chat. Had same issues, turned out to be NAT settings on my router. If not all correct ports are open , the audio from you will not be sent through. Try and use Skype on the xbox, and see if the person you talk to can here you then. If it works, your headset is fine, but the issue is with NAT and Party chat . (next update (May 2015) should fix this though acording to Microsoft.)

This headset is a pain in the ass when streaming, or when you're gaming with friends. The sound is awesome, but the headphones make it hard for you to hear your own voice as you speak. To fix this, I move it so one part of the headset doesn't completely cover my ear. I can hear myself again, but it gets really uncomfortable after a while. Weird that this issue has not been adressed by Microsoft, many, many people have problems with it. Please keep that in mind for when you play in a party a lot, or are a streamer.
