Also how does calling Mrs.Tillman a racist make sense? She's talking about Harry, who's white, not having a suitable character or "work history" to be eligible for the award in her son's name. Whoever makes this stuff up, then gets idiots or employees to spread it around must be cackling with glee!

Yes, ESPN is indeed doubling down by introducing Jake Wood who endorsed Harry as a worthy recipient of the Pat Tillman award. Jake won the 2018 award. But here's the thing. Harry through Archewell donated $250k to Jake Wood's organisation in 2021. Perhaps yet another "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" type of an award. Not a good look for ESPN. Talking of milliners- I was supporting a lesson with a young English teacher who was preparing the class for the world of ‘Great Expectations’. I realised History wasn’t her strength and had gently corrected her a few times already, when she started to talk about employment and jobs, such as chimney sweeping. When she asked the class to suggest what a milliner was- her answer: a person who worked in a mill. I was left speechless and swallowing my giggles, but also not wanting to undermine her, I kept quiet, though I still have a lingering guilt that at least 30 people left that room not knowing what a hat maker is known as! Talking of scary happenings I have to tell you mine. Sorry if it’s a bit long. All my life I have suffered from sleep paralysis, basically you wake up aware of what’s going on but unable to move and quite frequently are dreaming of horrible scary things at the same time. I was about 12 it was about 2 or 3 months before my beloved great aunt died. I woke up in a paralysis episode to see a soldier in a World War 1 uniform standing at my bedroom door smiling and beckoning to me. It frightened the life out of me! The next day I was walking to school with my friend and the same man in the same uniform walked right past me smiling, I was really terrified then especially since my friend saw nothing and thought I was ‘at it’ . Anyway about 4 months later my aunt had passed and I was helping my mum go through her things when I came across a photo of her late husband (my great uncle) it was the SAME man in the trenches in the same uniform ! I have no idea what on earth it was all about but it’s definitely the spookiest thing that ever happened to me. Maybe it was a premonition but I’m glad I’ve never had another one!

I am lying on the table after the requisite scooching down to the end of the table, hoping I don't fall off etc. etc. The test commences and I'm staring at the ceiling trying to think pleasant thoughts when the doctor says: "Is that a turtle?" I screech "WHAT???" and she hastily says "On your ring, on your ring!", pointing to my hands clasped on my belly. The ring in question was silver and featured a Haida sea turtle. Louise in Canada.

She came to work after a Dr. appointment laughing as she came down the hall, “ You will never guess what just happened to me” she went on to tell me that when she was up in stirrups, chatting away at the Dr. to quell her anxiety she noticed a smoky smell and then smoke rising from her netherlands! She yelled what’s happening and the Dr. replied jokingly “Although you have flaming red hair, it was just the cautery touching the gauze! She was still laughing and relieved it had not been a true “brush fire”! Still laughing as I enjoyed a long ago memory! Thanks Shauna!😂

Hi Shauna, I have a drive through story. In the 70’s I was so excited having gotten my learner’s driving permit and drove my older cousin to the drive though. After the movie I proudly drove toward home in the dark feeling so grown up when embarrassingly I realized the big metal speaker box was still attached to my window with the cord flopping along the road. I started laughing so hard I could barely navigate and was utterly convinced the cops were after me so I flung the incriminating evidence out of the car as far as I could throw it. My cousin never let me drive her anywhere again. ❤

Hi Shauna, I have another cute kid story for you. When my daughter was six, we were out shopping and she said she had to go to the bathroom really bad. I asked if she could hold it for a few more minutes and she shouted, “no I can’t, my biscuits are burning hard!” I was laughing but embarrassed too and we immediately ran to the restroom. 😂😂😂

I remember the exciting grad dance/social at my private Catholic girls school and the boys from their school. In particular the horror of using fake tan and turning up NEON ORANGE wearing an olive green dress! The stink of the fake tan killing people at 20 paces. The boy I adored from afar asked me to dance and nearly choked on the fumes from the fake tan. OMG!

Hi Shauna, Here's another bathroom story. One time I was driving along a highway and stopped at a servo in a small country town to get petrol and use the bathroom. There was a stink in the toilet, so I didn’t use it and just washed my hands. I drove another 130 km when out of the shimmering mirage a police vehicle emerged. I decelerated but it didn’t help and I was caught. I panicked when I couldn’t find my licence. The police radioed his station and phone calls were made and it was established that I had left my purse at the last servo. The police said he would escort me back to town. Twice I had to pull to the side of the road when the officer made a U-ie to book passing vehicles that were also zooming across the outback. Finally we reach our destination and I went up to the counter at the servo to claim my purse. I got a right royal telling off for leaving the toilet in a filthy state. I was so embarrassed that I was speechless. To this day, fifteen years later, I still feel tempted to go back to the servo to say it wasn’t me. As if I hadn’t already been punished enough, I still got a ticket.

I did notice your quilt Shauna. I had to pause, to take a better look, I thought it had a Christmas theme. Thought she's early getting that out. The fact that you then told us, your sister made it, including material from your bridesmaid dress, and she put a personal message in it, that just changed everything about it. What a talent she has, and what sentimental keepsake for you, and your boys to cherish. I have two brother's, I won't hold my breath for a quilt, or anything else handmade.

I remember as a little girl going Carol singing at Christmas time singing at some rather large houses near where we lived. I remember our horror seeing one door open to us and seeing stags heads on the wall along the hall. We, like most children had this morbid fascination for these things. Needless to add, we do not have these animals on our walls.

Hello, Shauna from Texas! Love “Gossip”! I have a funny story for you and your viewers. I was 15 and my God Mother passed away. I lived in a small city with a small funeral home, but she lived in a big city which had really big funeral homes which could accommodate several funerals at one time… something very alien to me. My family pulled into the parking lot while I was reading an article in the newspaper that I wanted to finish before I went in, so I told the others that I’d meet them inside. Well I entered the building and there to my immediate left was a chapel full of flowers and mourners, and a casket. So I reverently walked up to view my God Mother’s remains and was shocked to see a man in the coffin wearing black, horn rimmed glasses! I was so shocked, I blurted out, “Oh! Excuse me!” Then I started apologizing for talking to a dead man…I couldn’t seem to stop talking …including asking why he was wearing glasses! (It seemed to me he wouldn’t need them at that point) I finally composed myself and mustered as much dignity as I could and walked back down the aisle to exit the chapel. While passing the mourners, I could hear people asking in hushed tones, “Who is that?!Eventually, found the correct chapel but wouldn’t go up to the casket until I saw family members so knew I was at the right funeral.

Hi Shauna, I remember finishing year 12 at Applecross Senior High School in WA. Our Principal Mr Bogg was a wonderful man, however our actions did not reflect the respect we had for him. On our last day, we did a whip around and had delivered a truck load of yellow brickies sand and dumped into his reserved parking bay and topped with a sign that said, “Do not get bogged”. We were special art school, so in our defence, the sign was very artistic. SIP from WA police

We had 2 weeks Stu-vac to study for our HSC which just happened to coincide with my purchase of the first Kate Bush album. I did NO study at all, but wore out the record and spent my time working out all the songs so I could perform them. Delicious! I figured that if I didn’t know my subjects by that time, 2 weeks wasn’t going to make much difference. I went into my exams very relaxed!

The spooky stories don’t bother me because when I was younger my dad said “it’s not hard to imagine someone becoming a ghost, but I can’t believe in ghost clothes ,ghost hats ,ghost boots etc. “This made sense to me so now I m ok as long as a don’t see a naked ghost. 😮
